Q:

Cricket getting new glass

I have decide on the new SWFA SS 3-15×42 FFP as my new scope for 22 cricket. Will try it on 22 first then will upgrade the 25 as well. I have wanted to try one of these mil to mil ffp scopes but non fit the bill (in more and a few ways) I have finally given in to paper punching at 100 yards. It was the main reason I held back on getting a scope with less than 20x. My Hawke is set to 13 power all the time so I thought it will be OK to get a 15x scope. It should arrive here on the weekend. Any other thoughts on these scopes. I really like the size and weight to boot. What do you guys think?

That looks like one fine combo you got there sir. I’m excited to get mine mounted

I love mine on my Edgun. The quality of the scope rivals those of $1k+ scopes, and the amount of adjustment in the scope is awesome for distance shots on airguns.

The SS is a great scope. I alternate between it and a Bushnell 8-32×40 on my royale and I prefer the SWFA for everything but bench rest. When my .177 compact cricket arrives next week the SS will go on it full time. The SS is compact and built like a tank. I prefer the mil-quad reticle to a std 1/2 milldot and once you get a feel for the various aim points between mils (and half mils) you can get very precise with holdover alone. On top of it all, SWFA is easy to deal with and, if needed, resale value is great.

I use adjustable mounts so that is not an issue for me. I use Burris rings with inserts to keep scope optically centered

Do you know how much adjustment it has? Most of the fixed power SWFA SS scopes have over 100 inches, which is a plus for air gunners.

SWFA scopes, in general, have a good reputation. I like the compact size as well.

They sure sound like a great scope. What’s the weight? Fine X-hairs?

24 oz. 4 oz less than current one
