Cricket low fps after sitting
Anyone seen this issue? I hadn’t shot my 22 standard in a week or so. First shot hit way low and sounded very quiet so I got out the chrony. 2nd shot was 550 fps. I kept shooting and by the 8th shot the gun was up to the normal 890 fps. The rest of the string was very consistent with the normal SD of 2 and extreme spread of 6 fps. I charged the gun back up to 200 bar and let it sit for a few days and it did the same thing today, 8 shots starting at 500 fps before normalizing at 890 fps. The gun was shot where it was stored at normal temperatures.

Looks like the problem was the little oring inside the reg. Replaced Oring and shot a couple hundred pellets. I let the gun sit for 2 weeks and shot a full string today. The first shot was right at 900 fps with SD of 2 and ES of 8 over the next 4 mags.

How is your gun tuned if you don’t mind me asking? Do you tinker with the reg or just the HST? How many fps do you shoot at? Will it shoot faster than you like to shoot?
I had the very same problem on a Lelya years back causing a shifting POI on the first shots.
Servicing the gun and regulator a few times did not help.
Since I had also other issues with the gun I just got rid of it.
Hopefully you can solve your problem and I would be really curious to know what the problem was related to.

Yep. There is a blow-up diagram of the entire Cricket on here somewhere. The only issue disassembling the Cricket is replacing the little bleed grub screw on the bottom with a nylon tipped one. Sometimes they don’t seal again well with the stock screw. Don’t strip it.

Sounds reasonable. Already have the O rings. I guess this is probably the little one inside inside the regulator?

First that is a common issue.
My guess is a very slow regulator leak in resulting in overpressure in the reg. Hammer can’t open it as much so a low fps the first shot(s). Probably needs an oring(s). Earnest has videos on checking and disassembling the Cricket on Youtube. It’s pretty easy but you need the right orings and right lube, etc.. It could be something else depending on how the gun is tuned. If the valve leaks the regulator will fill it back up to set pressure so I don’t think it is that. If you don’t feel comfortable with any of that you can ship it to him.
