Cricket Moderator Complete!
So after a lot of testing this weekend, I have finally completed my Cricket shroud mod. Quietest air gun I’ve heard 🙂 When you’re dry firing or shooting with a pellet outside. All you hear is a low thump. Like GKU said, it makes it sound like the gun didn’t have enough air left to push the pellet out. Inside the house, still a lot lower than OEM and all you hear is the hammer slap echo in the room.
The final product, the shroud extends from the air gauge 6 1/4 inches. Overall length of the gun 33 inches. Slides on and off easily. A few members have asked me to make them for sale so this week I’ll be working on a few. I’ve found the perfect plug for it but currently in white. I’ve ordered a bunch in black and they should arrive this Wednesday. PM me if you’re interested.
The shroud in the picture above was one of my test shroud (extended 8 inches from air gauge). I just want to show what the plug looks like. It will come in black.

Shop is officially opened! Had to move my workbench out of my office and into the garage. Not the smartest to sand pvc on carpet.
Bench was all nice and cleaned for 10 mins, then it got to the point where I couldn’t find anything on it.
I envy you guys who get to work in the workshop all day and crafting your skills. I got a sense of “Tim the toolman Taylor” manliness and wished that I could do this more often.
Things are looking good and still on target for Thursday’s shipment of the first batch. Thanks guys, can’t wait for you to experience the “thump” 🙂
