Q:

Cricket OK for Lefty

Does the cocking piece present a problem for lefty’s when on the scope? Just curious if it digs in during a cheek weld.

Thanks

I too am a lefty… Have a 22 and 25 Cricket. I don’t have a problem with the rickets. I did however just get me a 25 Vulcan and all I can say is WOW!!! that forward cocking lever is very nice, and it is a tack driver. So far all I’ve done to it is fill it and shoot it. I’m taking head shots on sparrows on my martin boxes at 52 yards as a routine shot. If you are looking for a new gun, I’d highly recommend checking them out.

Spinj,

Thanks for insight. Sounds like it might still be an option for me.

And here I am, Cricket! :biggrinn:

DanT55, being a lefty shooter, I don’t have any issue with mine. The key is placement of your scope. If your scope is set further to the rear, then yes, the cocking lever being in the way may present a slight problem as your cheek is going to be positioned further back, thus contacting the lever. However, because of the Cricket’s relatively short length-of-pull (and with a decent scope eye-relief), you’re likely to have your scope seated in a way where your cheek weld will be just before the cocking lever anyway. Also, you’re probably not going to have your scope set further than this though as you won’t feel comfortable when getting into shooting position or shouldering the gun because the butt won’t be fully supported by your shoulder–as when moving your head back your shoulder tends to move along with it. At least to me, this is how it is. I hope this helps.

Spinj is lefty, no doubt he will chime in at some point, he has a .22 cricket
