Q:

Cricket Pellet & Speed for Accuracy

I’m wondering what other Cricket .22 owners are using for pellets 15.9 or 18.1s ? and what speed do you have yours adjusted to for best accuracy? I’m running 15.9s at mid 880fps and getting amazing accuracy, I’m thinking of turning it down a little to 870 for even tighter groups. I’ve heard the .22 CZ barrels shoot the 15.9 the best at 860fps. What has been everyone elses results with speed and 15.9 & 18.1s ?

I have only had my Cricket a few days and put about 100 pellets through it but it stays right in the low 890s until the reg drops out. About perfect for the JSB 18s and 32 fpe is more than adequate And I dont see a need for a speed adjustment. So far this gun performs flawlessly given the high accuracy I am seeing. The trigger is fabulous. My only complaint is the leaky air adapter on the probe.

I hope to get to a full string this week. Btw – my sparrow population is down about six so far courtesy of the Cricket.

I’m sticking with the 15.9s because I have a lot of ammo and I don’t need any more FPE for my use.

It appears they set mine right at 890 for 18.13 JSBs near some of the others. They must have set yours with the 15.9s. I chrono’d one 15.9 and it gave 927. It is very accurate with 18.13s.

You need to decide if you want to setup on 15.9s or 18.13s. I shoot both a lot (15.9s in the my AA S510C at 900 fps) but I like the 18.13s more mainly because they are a little more resilient to damage from shipping, handling, etc. Energy difference is negligible from a squirrels perspective. Shot count will drop with the 18.13s somewhat. 😎
