CRICKET setup from SCRATCH
Hi people, I am 67 years old, been lurking for years with an occasional post. Had a Beeman brake barrel that I still have and it took a lot of varmits. Moved onto a Benjamin Marauder Pistol (Prod) with a scuba tank. Put a lot of pellets through it and more than a few pests met their end and 11 ft lbs of energy. Well my son got interested in PCP and all hell broke loose. I now have a Shoebox compressor, a 100 cu. Ft. scuba tank, a guppy and recently acquired Cricket Tactical .22. Multiple tins of pellets, scopes, mounts, chrony etc. etc. etc and last but not least at least 10 millions hours of searching and reading threads, posts and forums on how and what to do with this knowledge and equipment. Bottom line is as I said, I am 67 years old and have information overload. I would like someone to take mercy on me and list, 1,2,3,4,5,6, etc.
What should I do (besides just shoot) to my Cricket. I would like it a little quieter so I’m told to drill some holes in the shroud. I want it a little slower with a higher shot count so I am told to take out the regulator and give it a ¼ to ½ turn CW. Bought a couple thousand JSB 18.1’s and a new scope FFP scope. Started to set up scope just to try it and low about 4” at 10 yds.. Read somewhere to adjust scope so turrets are in the middle and then to shim scope to get close before tuning with turrets. Anyone have an ABC or 123 on start to finish setup?? Please

Are you sure about putting that moisture trap between the pump (Shoebox) and his scuba tank? It would have to be one of those expensive Joe Brancato filters that can handle the high pressure of up to 4200 psi.
I use a $65 desiccant filter between my shop compressor and the shoebox that can handle the 120psi.
I’d hate to blow up our new friend!!!
Good point!
Our friend needs to determine the wisest point to place his moisture filter, and what particular unit fits his compressor, for safety sake. Not all such filters necessarily go in-line.
