Q:

Cricket shroud end cap replacement

Has anyone succeeded in removing the end cap of a cricket shroud and replaced it with one that has a 1/2×20 male fitting?
I would appreciate some direction here. Thanks.

I replaced my standerd shroud with a carbon one so got a spare standerd .25 shroud

Made off a mate called blodnob a true gent and genius very neighbour freindly now :4: :8: :8:

Took a hard look with a flashlight ans a pick probe and it’s not going to be long enough to thread. So I bucked up the funds and mailed off $250 for one of Neil’s 2 piece CF shroud/LDC units today. Had to do something… The cricket just puts out too much energy for me to be comfortable even sighting with neighbors.

Depends on if there is enough matèrial to put threads in. How thick is it?

I have another idea. How about drilling out the shroud’s end cap to a 1/2″ hole and threading it for a male-male 1/2×20 fitting to match up with a female LDC? The plastic shroud cap should be tough enough to hold threads. Any machinists out there?
