Cricket Shroud
Anyone have a cad drawing or similar on the shroud? In my country the shroud is not legal. Right now the gun looks like something from Men in Black (noisy cricket) http://meninblack.wikia.com/wiki/Noisy_Cricket
– No Shroud just the barrel :horse:

…and what about to try weihrauch push on silencer?
Maybe I can he of help.
I have an R3 long gun .25 cal shooting at 45 ftlbs and a .22 cal standard length cricket shooting at 30 ftlbs. Maybe not a fair comparison but it will give you an idea.
They are both about the same. However, there is a difference and one that I do not like about the cricket. The cricket’s report has a noticeable sharp snap. It sounds like a benjamin with two pumps. A slight “crack”. It is not bad but it bothers me. It bugged me so much, I commissioned Neil Clague to make me a shroud. It will be made from a 16 inch piece of carbon fiber tube. I don’t mine sacrificing length as long as it get rid of that annoying snap. I will be using the longer shroud for backyard sniping and the shorter factory shroud for hunting in close quarters unless I need to rely on silence. Then, I will leave the longer shroud one the cricket.
This is all dependent on the aftermarket shroud reducing the report. I prefer a “poooof” sound. I don’t want to spook the neighbors. If I do, my shooting opportunities will be greatly reduced. Don’t want that ๐
I’m confident the shroud will be effective. Just adding volume up front does wonders. Look at how FX shrouds work. An air stripper at the muzzle and no baffles. I had a FX Indy with 5 inches of dead space ahead of the muzzle and it was surprisingly quiet. It was shooting hotter than my cricket too. I remember the Indy spitting out 15.9s at 930 versus the cricket at 890 fps.
I’ll post pics as soon as I get it from Neil.
