Q:

Cricket standard .22 shot string

Bought this gun used on the Yellow last summer. Had the valve stem break in November so sent it to Ernest in December to get fixed and tuned. I have been shooting pest birds all winter out my truck window at dairy farms. Decided to shoot a string today. This is what I got.
225b-115b
52 shots
H-885
L-878
Avg-881
ES-7
SD-1

I think Ernest should be proud!

Hi folks,

Dear GKU thank you very much for your advice, I fill the rifle once at 300 bar just to know how many shots they gave me, but usually I filled only at 250 bar.

By the way congratulations on the great job you do in the you Cricket stock, superb.

ay, I see.

Thanks glad(iator) you like it.

I’m didn’t like the way the staining turned out kind of blotchy and kind of against it, but that wood is very pale.
Working with other exotic woods you don’t need to fake it by staining just a clear coat and it will show its natural beauty.

It still needs some minor carving here a there but for now it usable and a lot lighter.
Maybe next year I’ll get a chance to refinish it and add a laser inside of the fore grip.

Hi folks,

You right and I am sorry Octavius, some times we have luck, as soon I disassemble the reservoir I will take measurements to share with you.

Your shot string looks good and flat from 220 bar down to 120 bar.

If you’re keep planning to use JSB 16 g I would set your reg at that point where there is that small peak after the falling off.
Yours look like it’s right around 110 bar and this is where you should set your reg to.

Value spring retainer set to 1/2 – 1 turn CW after contact.

Just my :2cents:

That is no good information because we do not know what was factory setting. But your shot count and consistency is more than good 😉 mainly from 300bar
Probably they have lucky day in the factory for regulator setting and other thinks 😆

Hi folks,

No Octavius, I apply one full CW start from the factory settings.

Gladiator.

Just got mine from Ernest last week.

My .22 Cricket BP is so consistent, it makes me want to check my Chrony… shot after shot it will sit on 880, then finally it falls off the regulator and begins to decay rapidly… This thing continues to amaze me. I still haven’t touched it yet other than cleaning the barrel and shooting it. Amazing little gun!
