Q:

Cricket standard vs compact .22

New guy question.

Have a .22 compact in the shopping cart and just want to get the expert opinion.

Should I switch to standard?

I would buy the shortest version in every case, PERIOD. Airguns are heave and they are just easier to hold prone and if you want to benchrest the gun, longer is no real help since the stocks are all the same regardless of barrel and air tube length. Most of us don’t tune for max velocity, in fact most everyone wants max accuracy and it typically comes at reduced FPS anyway. Longer is just bulkier, unless you are caught up in shot count.

I like that reasoning. I have a hw100 so I may as get THE bulpup. Plus the usual answer buy both may eventually come to fruition. Thank you!

My opinion?

Want THE bullpup? Buy the Compact otherwise get a carbine.

Want the bullpup LOOK but need a higher shotcount? Buy the standard.

I donΒ΄t know exactly. PM Ernest (Sniperlabyo) since he knows everything about these damned Guns … :ugeekn:

Thank you, so what sort of velocity / shot count difference is there?

I can only see three reasons speak for a STD rather than a Compact:
– higher shot count
– possibility to get little more speed out of that longer barrel although i see no reason why you need to
– balance point

It depends on what u want…. I have a compact… And it’s great. Almost got a std but I don’t feel I need it. Basically the only negative would be shot count. And I don’t find that an issue.

Compact is shorter and lighter. No problems dropping pest out to 60 yards off hand.

Can’t really find a reason why I would buy a std…. ????

I have the standard and love it. Easy to maneuver inside my truck to shoot out the window, good shot count and GREAT trigger, thanks to Ernest.

No requirements.

Just looking for general pro/ cons.

Why not? You didn’t give any requirements.
