Q:

Crosman 1400 .22

I just got myself a used Crosman 1400 in .22. It looks to be in great condition and I can it wait to shoot it. What is the correct number of pumps for this gun (8 or 10)? Also, what kind of accuracy should I expect at 50 feet and does anyone know what pellet preference this gun has?

Thanks,

J.C.

I remember seeing those in the rack at a sporting goods when I was a kid. I thought they were soo cool. Congratulations…$20 is a great deal. If it needs work, I’m sure Tim at Mac-1 Airguns could repair it for you. Good Luck!

Thanks for the information. I came close to buying a Benjamine 392, but bought the Talon instead. Now I have the best of Both worlds as it looks like this pellet gun is built like a tank and is a hoot to shoot. Not bad for $20.

PS How much are these guns worth? I would rate the condition to be in good.

4 pumps for plinking at close range. 10 pumps for long range. Don’t forget pelgun oil for the pump head and pivots every 400 or so rounds.

Try a lot of different pellets until you find the ones it likes. No shortcuts here. But try domed pellets under 18 grains as a starter.
