Crosman 600 semi auto 22 caliber pistol
50 years ago when I was 11, I almost bought one of these, they were made for 10 years for 1960 to 1970.
I bought a single shot Ted Williams, one of the Crosman 1xx series made for Wards instead. Less money for a 11 year old kid and it had a ventelated rib!
I have read that they were the high water mark of Crosman. I also see them for sale on Gunbroker for around 175 to 200, functioning but most need seals. I even see a seal kit for sale.
I have read that there are smiths that can soup them up a bit, instal longer barrels, have any of you had experience with the Crosman 600?

No clue on FPE, on the carbine I was getting around 650FPS using Crosman premiers and would spike close to 700 when the temp was up.
They are fun playthings but I am pretty anal on quality at this point in my life

I have been emailing Mitch a lot, he is about to start selling a AR collaspable stock that fits the 88 gram co2 tube.

Couple smiths do great work on the 600
Top bet is Tim at MAC1 who will install a hot valve, fit an extended HW .22 barrel and fit it with a screw on gas tube extension with bulk fill allof which will ramp up the FPE to a considerable degree
of course at that point you are getting into the pricing on a FWB C5 along with adding the bulk of an LD
never cared for the Buck Rogers styling of the 600
Not aware of FACTORY 600 carbines but owned a custom that was allegedly done by Peter Rutt {sp?} that had an 18″ barrel, extended bulk fill and decent buttstock, recall it was in the mid 600FPS range which isn’t a great improvement over either of my current FWB C5s and accuracy while ok simply was not in the same league as the compact FWB pistol.

I had no Idea they made a carbine also. Did it load horizontaly like the pistol also?
My Ted Williams was always so hard to get the cap on the co2 cylinder, I found the freezer was the best tool for getting it screwed on. I had a 101 Crosman pump 22 for a rifle during that time.
I was lucky I did not buy the semi auto looking back. I was raised on a farm and my parents gave me a 5 pellet bounty for every ground squirrel I killed. I had to bring the tail in.
At 11 I would not have had enough trigger discipline to make that pay.

They also made a matching carbine. Wish I still had both. Always leaked around the co2 pearcing point though.
I got in a lot of trouble with them! 😆 When I was in the Service. 😈

I read the Mac 1 site 600 section. They call the 600 the finest auto short of the expensive 5 shooters, and as you called it, they start talking about the traits of the 600.
I think I will pass.
