Crow magnum .22 spiralling

video comes into focus at around 60m….no wonder my .22 rifles would be off center at varying distances

My s410 keyholes crow magnums at 15 yards. At 30 yards they sometimes hit sideways. That gun absolutely will not shoot them at any range.

I can however shoot predators in it quite well out to 50 yards and slightly beyond. They really start to open up past 60 yards.

I am able to load them in my magazine as well. I just cut a thin chunk of plastic shim and put it between the magazine and its clear plastic lid. It took a bit of fiddling, but look at your magazine and youll figure it out.
Just be sure the plastic wont touch the rotating part inside.

This basically opened up the allowable length of pellet just enough to cycle them.
It still fits in the rifle just fine.

Cyg, some folks have machined a grove into the inside face of mag’s in order to fit the Polly’s. Might work for you. 😉

KnifeMaker

heres one more…impact is 30m, so the spiralling is well under way already at 15-20m

wonder if HN knew this back in the 90’s when they started to make this pellet

its not my video….it was posted on danish airgun forum…so i dont know camera or fps….

it explained why my AA and SS does not like crowmagnums….AA the pellet could impact about 1″ away from a center shoot….the SS the impact moved with distance…so i guess on the AA the the spiral had a random start once it left barrel….where as the SS (12″) the spiral would start the same place….so distance would be the determining factor

they shoot just fine out of my .25 cRapid though…in fact its all i shoot ATM…my distance is short….the expansion is great, and 95% SQ drops dead instantly…i have taken crows (big ones) at 60-70 yards …so they are accurate enough in .25

but none of my .22 or .177 have liked them…for them the HN hunter extreme are best or the predator pellets(except they wont fit magazine equipped guns and i really like the followup option of magazine airguns)

Kinda typical for the Crow Mag. at anything but short to med. range. 😉

CorkScrew Mag, huh. 😯

How many frames per second does it take to capture that Cyg ❓
