I’m never had an issue with Tom, and I hope that he pulls through and gets back in to top health.
He has been in and out of the hospital for the last month. Quite a bit of the time he has been on deaths door. He has pancreas problems, he was let out of the hospital last week, but is back in.
I read his blog first thing in the morning, mainly because I read everything about airguns I can find. But like most of you I put the bullshit filter on while reading.
It was through Gaylord that I first learned about the Condor and the Talon, he was very critical about this site. After reading both his work and this forum, I decided to get my Air Force info here and to learn about the evolution of air guns from him. he is a wealth of knowledge once the “filter” is in place.
He also sets an example on why us old guys need to exercise and eat less. You die early and miss so much of life when your health goes to hell because of your appetite.

KM is right here…. While TG certainly is a wealth of knowledge, he does tend to spew some shit at times.
I know when I got my Condor back in 2004, I had it sent back to AF twice and both times, I spoke with Tom on the phone who told me that my gauge was wrong on my hand pump and that was why I couldnt fill my gun to 3000psi. Never mind the fact that my gauge was good enough for the other PCP’s I had ….. 🙄
Of course, some years later, AF comes out with a new valve that addresses the problem.
Tom has a lot of knowledge and is passionate about airgunning…. and he will be the first to say that he doesnt know everything…. but newbies will read his blog, hanging on to every word as though it were written by God himself, but those of us who have been around the game a while know to read it with a bit more critical eye.
Don’t give “GAY LORD” too much credit. Do a search here. He has done a hell of a lot to hurt af, and air gunning in general.
Not to mention his fake bloc’s. He use to argue a lot with another air gunner god. BB Pelter. He made a big deal out of it on the air gun forums. Always puffing him self up.
Problem was, he forgot to mention he was BB. Pelter.
No more fake than a lot of his advice. Not to mention telling every one who would listen that the problems the AF guns were having were bad chrono’s, and air gunners not knowing how to shoot. He totally ignored any and all of the production problems with the AF Gun. He put us down for years here on the forum. Oddly they are now adopting things already pioneered here by people like Tony and others.
They will still run us down at the AF facility thanks to old blubber gut’s.
Boy’s as full of shit as a Christmas turkey! Half the time when he is showing how to do somthing to set up a gun or scope he gets it exactly back ass wards! 👿

Some people shoot like that. Left eye dominant, right handed shooter. Some of the competition guys that are like that will get extra high scope mounts so they can use the scope the same way.
