CUSTOM BACKPACK TALON 23" OAL.. NOW TUNED,,
Hey lads admiral here hope your all doin good. thers a little project iv been working on the last couple of months.
The idea of a really small type talon was in my mind ever since i saw the bullpup design of some of the guns around today.
And then the post of TALON 4 thread kick started it off,so heres what iv built.
I bought a standerd talon in 22 stripped it out to the bare frame
then got the dremel out and cut the frame just in front of were the last bush screw goes so the second bush would sit at the very end of the frame flush. The frame was then sanded were cut untill a proper finish was achived.
then cnc cut the side lever cocking mod into the side of the frame
then the barrel was cut at the loading end down to 9″ re profiled and unf threaded at the bussiness end to take a hw silencer.
The breech got the hammer slap mod treatment , the hammer and the packing behind the spring had a small recess cut in them so the spring has a lip at each end ,this keeps the spring hammer and washers in line with no side movement giving a more consistent strike.
Then the sears was polished at the contact point for a more smother feel and trigger pull.
the safty was kept on this gun as the family will use it with it being so small and light.
The safty spring was changed out for a lighter one ,the old one was way to heavy and really made a noise at night when pushed forwerd.
The standerd tank was changed to a BSA 200 cc tank from the r10
only 7″long 2″wide and good for 140 shots at 12ftp what this gun is set at.
the AF valve is M18xM1.5 the BSA bottle is M14xM1.5 so it would not fit. 👿
so i had a 💡 moment i went to see my friend steve who runs protec ingernering in bidford upon avon nr stratford (shakespears yard) to be or not to be HA HA sorry couldent resist that one..
took the bottle and valve in and showed the cnc master my problem,no worries was his answer and one week later i had a nice stainless steel valve adaptor M18 female to screw the AF valve into and the other end M14 to screw into the BSA buddy bottle. it is a very simple work of art to me ..
This allows me to use the RAP4 paint ball AR15 stock as it goes over 2″tanks ,TALON 4 THREAD used the talon p bottle but thats smaller at 6″ the bsa bottle is 7″ so ther is a few more shots, and the buttstock is 7″ so the bsa fits it perfect. you need the buttstock rail aswell this attaches to the under neath of the buddy bottle and allows the stock to slide were you wont it .i stuck the rail to the buddy bottle with car body seal its a black rubber sealent that gives a little so no cracks with eny knocks or temp drops ..its so hard you need a new stanly blade to even try to cut it so the rail is on for good or a very long time.
Optics are leapers bugbuster scope 3x9x32 il ret red/green.mildot ret.
and for £50 thers nothing better in such a small tube,its the bollox.
crystol clear from 3 yards and full power no white out great little scope for small carbins and bullpups.
As this is a 12ftp gun its running like glass on glass when you load it ,its got the standerd hammer in but a custom soft spring and a bit of valve work done to allow for the softer spring ,its just as quite as my s410 when loading .
When fired all you here is the pellet hitting its mark ,what with all the inside work and the hw silencer on its just as quite as my brother hw100 to his disbeleaf. and mine tbo..
Iv set it at 35 yards and drawing pins is its food of choice lead on lead.
it dont like nothing but AIR arms deiblo feild witch i think are jsb,s just relabled for air arms.??.
im running a seben camera mount (,ted/edgun// uses) . A sony hd 60x zoom camcorder as a scope cam ,, and a deben 150 watt red filter lamp for lamping and rating.

😎 😉 Hey 80 grit,,meny thanks , dude o yes loving my backpack talon :8: she rocks,
she is good for a 100 yards,only weighs in at 5,3/4 lbs, 24″ long 16 ftp and deadly silent with my hw silencer and fits into my laptop bag so everyone thinks im going to work in the office BUT really im going to kill stuff :4: LOVE IT ,.
im gonna do a strip down of the build soon so everyone will have the proper measurements to copy the build if thay wont to.
80 grit i will do a full photo strip down for you and video it with voice over that way your build will be plain sailing with no pitfalls ,not trying to tell anyone there business just trying to help fellow tag members out..

THE “CROWMINATOR”!!! That is one sweet carbine. Good job. I am afraid you have just given birth to my next (future project). A similar build in .177 set at a similar FPE (perhaps 18) Short and sweet providing tons of dead meat! 😎

So boys what do you think,
On monday after tea(dinner)to u guys,I went for a little shoot/zero with the compact to see how she run after the rail mod,bed liner,ect
but after a quick shoot she was on the money for sure ,finger nail groups,at 40 yards. 😎 even tho i have 1000 acre to shoot on, all the game /pests are so used to getting/seeing ther mates get smoked by me ,thers not much to shoot,never mind seeing the gun or me thay know my motor and the second thay see me drive up ther gone.
so i got me a second permission next door on a industrial site,,thay have lots of big tree,s with fields to the left of the yard, the crows just love this place and i got it ok,d to shoot them all along with the rabbits.
So after the zero i popped next door to the site and give the nod to the security guard to let him know im shooting ther .When leaving the house i had not intent on coming to the site today,only to zero the gun on the farm next door ,but the crow nose pulled me in.MY POINT IS,,,I DIDENT BRING MY VIDEO CAMERA, and dident get the 40 plus crows i shot on film GUTTED OR WHAT ..proberly the best shoot iv ever had and dident film it,,
Here is the pic of the compact with 21 of the 40+ crows i shot,,5 feet stinger nettles hid the rest from me but i got what i could find.
IT WAS THE BEST BUZZ FOR SURE.. :8: :4:
NOW the next day the camera was charged and in the gun bag for sure,,but i could not replicate the first shoot,cos id killed 99% of the ones in 3 of the tree,s
but i got a couple of birds that was left,on film ,vid coming as soon as it loads.
All the birds was taken from 61/76 yards, with 3 mildots hold over and 2 dots left/right for windage.
I must say the custom compact shoots like a dream at 16ftp with H&N FTT
THIS NOT THE CROW VID ,BUT A PHEASENT I SHOT WITH THE COMPACT WHILE IT WAS RUNNING AWAY AT 41 YARDS,MY NEPHEW MISSED IT AT 20+ YARDS WITH HIS 97K??
TO ME THIS IS PROPERLY THE BEST SHOT IV MADE ,forget about long range paper or bottles ,this was moving and the kill zone i had to hit was the size of a beer top while it was running.Take a look.I dont know if i could do it again guys.

OK lads, heres a rating vid i put togeather .
i detuned the compact down to 11.9 ftp with jsb 16 g for a phesant shoot i went on over xmas ..(pics to come of shoot) 😎
it worked so well iv deciced to leave it at that power and use it for my light weight rig around home and were you do not need big power..
eny way i live next to a farm and the rats just wont leave the dogs food alone. so iv decided to leave the rat holes open and not cover them in.
this way i know what holes ther using..

WELL THOUGHT ID PLAY AROUND A BIT WITH THE COMPACT,,
PUT THE 12″ LW BARREL IN HER,AND TOOK THE VALVE APART AND CHANGED OUT THE BRASS NUT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE VALVE..
IT HAD THE MICRO NUT IN FOR 12FTP.. I PUT A FAC NUT IN DRILLED TO 5MM AND PUT 6 WASHERS BEHIND THE THE BACK OF THE SPRING,,
THIS GIVES ME MORE POWER FROM THE STANDERD SPRING .
INSTEAD OF USEING THE HEAVY SPRING AND ADDING RECOIL..
I GET TO KEEP THE SMOOTHNESS FROM THE STANDERD SPRING
BUT GET NO RECOIL THIS WAY..
AT 30 YARDS A JSB 16 GRAIN WAS BLOWING STRIGHT THROUGH 1″ FACIA BOURD AND HITTING HARD INTO METAL SHEETING BEHIND..
CENTER CROSS HAIRS SET FOR 30 YRD .ONE MILDOT DOWN IS 50 YRD
3RD MILDOT IS 80 YRD I HAVENT TRYED IT ENY FARER THEN 80 YARDS,, BUT IT HITS HARD AT THE 80 YRD..
MY CRHONI WILL BE HERE SOON SO IL NO FOR SURE..
ENY WAY WENT OUT TODAY WITH THE COMPACT TOOK 4 MORE PHESANTS AND A NICE BIG RABBIT,,
2 PHESANTS WERE AT 48 YARDS THE COCK BIRD WALKED ON A BIT AFTER I HIT HIS BITCH,S A BIT, HE RANGED AT 71 YARDS AND THE LAST HEN BIRD WAS AT 12 YARDS IN THE THICKET,,
THE RABBIT WAS TAKEN ABOUT A HOUR LATER AT AROUND 20 YARDS..
THIS LITTLE COMPACT TAKES GAME ALLDAY LONG AT 12FTP
BUT NOW ITS TUNED ,,HAVING THIS POWER IN SUCH A SMALL PACAGE IS A GREAT FEELING.. SO IM KEEPING IT LIKE THIS..
SO IV GOT MY BIG TALONDOR WITH BIG POWER AND NOW MY COMPACT IS RUNNING FAC,,, 😉 😎
I ALSO BOUGHT A TOP END LAPTOP CASE FOR THE COMPACT,AND SPRAYED HER MATT BLACK. WHO NEEDS A VERMINATOR WHEN YOU OWN THIS.. 😎

i could fart louder the hw silencer takes 98% of the noise,
its no louder then a silenced hw 100 or s410,
but then i have a high power talondor. i run the same hw silencer on that
and its about mid 30,s/40 ftp and its also very quite,
id say about the same crack as my hw97k or my pro sport .
having used all the silencers on the market for fac or sub 12ftp the hw silencer rules the roost.
try it and be amazed. 😉
i dont care what you have on your air gun the hw is better ,
iv tried to find better no matter the price, the £50 hw is king in my books. 😉 😎

im asking santa for a nice shiny f1 chroni and printer so i can get the most out of my guns 12ftp and fac.
i will be doing some testing soon il post up full hd vids
testing it out to say 50/60 yards max id like to see what the limits are for the 9″ barrel
and il be testing with a 12ftp set up then change out to a heavy hammer and spring, and try at say 28ftp as 80 suggests.
and do a full shot count at chosen power settings..
and with normal air arms df 16 grains for 50/60 yards
then bisly magnums 21 grains for 30 yard
