Q:

Custom Cricket forearm/stock build…

This is a thread on a custom forearm/rail and stock for the Cricket. I am looking for someone (WalkonKing, Tony, or other) to consider building a free floating hand guard for the Cricket’s air tube, which would be similar to a Evanix Bullpup (but around the front half of the AIR TUBE only, not the barrel or shroud). The MOE stock would be removed, and ideally a Wokguard style adapter/grip could be tied into the floating air tube hand rail for this gun (would love the ability to add a hogue AR15 grip to a Cricket!). As for the remaining stock, or whats left of it, this would get built out by a custom stock maker.

Here are a few photos to help visualize the floating Cricket hand-guard and Wokguard, in conjunction with the traditional stock concept. Just mash a few of these concepts together, and you’ll get the idea:

Steyr has done an excellent job in incorporating the best of modern and traditional, combining a wood stock with metal forearm on this rifle, and is the best example of what I would be interested in (minus the cheek piece). Throw a Wokguard on here instead of the wood stock grip and BOOM:

The tactical looks of the Evanix forearm is nice too, good concept, but I prefer the sleeker Steyr hand guard.

What can I say, I bought a PWS MK1 last year, and really like the new AR15 keymod rail which was open sourced by Noveske, and this floating style rail got me thinking about something similar for a Cricket. Is it me, or is the Cricket stock ugly and lacks functionality and adaptability? Walkonking, Tony? You guys into a new product?

Hey if you built a key-mod lightweight stock for the cricket I’m in. I agree the stock is not very ergonomic. Having an accessory rail would be handy. I would not buy anything that looked like the Evanix however :butkick:

Build it and they will come …

Hi Synopsys – Thank you for the suggestion. Your rifle looks great, nice work.

I am trying to lose some of the weight of the synthetic stock, as well as make it leaner. I like the Steyr LG110 forearm concept, and I would like the equivalent of a Wokguard to install a hogue grip.

Thank you for your suggestion. cheers.

I stuck (inlet) an Anschutz T rail into my Cricket Tactical Stock forearm…

Also made a custom butt stock with adjustable pieces and a butt hook.

Why not just use the wood Cricket stock with a bipod stud in the front? 😐

123 views and no comments? So I take it everyone is happy with their fugly (and in the case of the synthetic… heavy) Cricket stock.

I would like to streamline this gun by losing the existing stock, replace it with a Cricket wokguard and metal forearm/rail on the airtube, and then have a custom wood stock abutt the wokguard.

Is this not worthy of pursuing?
