Crosman Silhouette PCP pistol with Lothar Walther barrel… $399.00

I love the crosman 13xx and 24xx series. I have built and customized many of them in my day.
But at $400 for a PCP pistol, it makes me pause and go WTF? At 4 bills I want the bluing to be immaculate and come with nice grips. I do not want casting lines left on the frame nor have a cheap paint job.
I hope the gun is awesome. But for $400 I would follow the Yellow Ninja’s lead and bet a Borcock Aim X

I have to agree with Riverside… to a point. If you DO want to tinker with the gun and money is less of an object… sure, go with the new Crosman.
….but I agree there are better options out there.
I have 4 22xx based PCP guns. None of them cost anywhere near $400.
An example of my latest one…

22xx upper…. $40
Grip frame….. $25
Tube…. $30
Disco internals..$50
Stock……………$20
The above numbers are rough, but it’s no where near $400…
Dont get me wrong… I love the Crosman guns. I think they represent a great value and the fun factor is extremely high as they are very modular guns with many vendors providing excellent products for them.
I would have really looked at the new pistols if they were in the $200 range…. but not at $400…..
Enough Shooting and build experience to recognize crap when I see it…
Don’t get me wrong, I do Love a good number of the Crosman line. For example the 22XX represent some true bargains at considerably under a $100.00
That said I tend to seriously question why a Crosman PCP pistol should have a projected MSRP of $399.00 particularly when you will need to replace the trigger, sear & other bits to get any sort of decent pull & release. One is serious money ahead simply building their own Crosman based PCP pistol from after market suppliers. Seriously, being realistic a single shot PCP distol should cost a bit less than the Disco but that is not what we see.
As far as accuracy…yes with a bit of work most Crosman barrels will deliver fine accuracy and with a bit of parts replacement one can obtain a pretty sweet trigger
That said if I want a single shot .177 pistol I am going to go elsewhere
I have 2240 Disco based pistols in .22, .25 & 9mm as well as a 13XX in .25 all built on DAQ uppers.. As a .177? Whats the point? not much of one when you can get used FWBs FAS, ect for roughly the same cost.
Riverside–I take it that you have a good bit of shooting experience with Crosman pistols?
I could switch handles and have a bomb gun!
the point is with the FWB there really isn’t a thing you need to upgrade or change. Everything has been worked out close to perfection. Maybe change the grips or add a comp but that’s about it.
The Crosman is generally crap inside and needs just about everything upgraded and even then it still will never be competitive with a FWB M2
One reason is because there are so many options with the crosman pistol. The crosman pistol is like the AF rifle with dozens and dozens of user mods.
I really don’t see the facination with this Crosman Silhouette offerring…
Consider at it’s MSRP of nearly $400.00 one can with a bit of looking around purchase a clean FWB M2 which continues to hold 10 meter pistol records.
Oh some will say…the M2 is CO2…I want a PCP!
Fine, then get a $33.00 FWB air adapter from champions choice, slip an O ring on it and charge up to the pressure flasks 250 bar rating! It will shoot a bit harder on air then it did on CO2 and the shot count will be slightly depressed…I am running around 40 full power shots at just a bit over 700FPS
Crosman Silhouette…I really have to ask Why?
does anyone actually think the Crosman product is even remotely close to the quality and capabilities of the venerable FWB M2?
I hope not…
Heres an M2 sporting Moroni Grips and a Nygord Turbo Comp

given similar pricing which represents the better value?
PS: I own two M2s…one I paid $325.00 for, truly a steal and the second just purchased for $450.00

Those are not factory crosman pistols – heavily modified, appear to be CO2 guns with custom PCP reservoir.
I like the silver one (if it were black).
in my opinion, this pistol looks ugly..
