Q:

Daystate Airwolf MCT Serial No. MCT3060 arrived!

Charging up the battery but here are some pictures. So far, I am very happy with how the MCT looks and feels. It is well balanced despite the larger FAC bottle and the rifle shoulders so well! I had pretty much accepted that this thing would be a beast but to my surprise, it doesn’t feel heavy at all! I’ll try to weight it before mounting the scope but the bottle is already full at 230 bar so the weight will be with a full bottle.

😆 Ya got all giddy like a little school girl! 😆

Just tell the truth, you were so excited to get it that you just couldn’t hold it, and ended up peeing all over yourself! 😆

And a new set of floor mats… 😕

And you might want to invest in a no spill cofee cup! 😆

That is just unacceptable…. YOU’RE FIRED……. 😯

Hurry before the whole country freezes…..

My impressions of the MCT so far:

The walnut stock is tops and just beautiful! The rifle was surprisingly very well balanced and just felt right. The magazine is easy to load an I love how all the clicks are so precise. They say the trigger isn’t for everyone but I absolutely love it! It is very predictable and the rifle fires as soon as you press the trigger. It’s the quietest air rifle I have ever heard when used with an additional moderator (mine is not from Daystate). I’ll report more when I actually get to shoot her. Today is my Friday so I’ll be doing plenty of shooting tomorrow.

Very Very nice…That string does look very promising. Sweet gun.

Nice rifle Varminter!!!

Wow!!! 😯 😀

Where did you get the moderator from?

I was a bit jealous of the Edguns.

I am genuinely proper jealous of this one. 😆

Congrats on a beautiful, powerful, technical masterpiece. If yours shoots as good as the ones in the many reviews I’ve seen, your gonna be stoked!! 😎

…ok so I said the story gets better.

I was racing home just hoping to have enough daylight left to get some chrono strings read. I refused to stop even though I REALLY have to piss! I finally can’t take it and grab my coffee cup from earlier in the day and do the piss while driving thing. I finally make it home and I spill my coffee/piss cup in my car as I pull into the driveway!!! I have more important things to do so I grab the rifle case and run toward my front door looking like a crazy killer. I’m just glad none of the neighbors were out. I get inside and pull the MCT out of the case. Now I have to find the keys! I run to my room where I thought I left the keys and cannot find them but I eventually do. I run back into the room with the MCT and turn it on. It’s telling me it has 203.1 bar in the tank, Cool! The max fill recommended is 230 bar. I go to my backyard to set the chronograph up and realize that it was accidentally left on. Mother F! The battery is frickin dead so I frantically search my house for a 9 volt and have no luck. I decide to pull it from my smoke detector but figure I’ll hit the test button first to make sure the battery is ok. I push the detector’s test button and hear nothing! I run back out to my piss spilled car and drive to the nearest store and buy two 9 volt batteries so I can replace the one in the chrono and the one in my smoke detector. I am home once again and I load the Daystate magazine. That was a piece of cake. The magazine is very nice and works well. Things are looking up but the sun continues to go down. I’m finally ready for my first shot when I hear my neighbor woking in her backyard. Remember that I have still never shot the MCT at this point and have no idea whether it will be quiet or loud on full power so I run back into the house and grab my additional SM that I originally used on the FX Royale with an adaptor, I remove the adaptor for the Royale and thread the moderator onto the end of the MCT’s barrel. The moderator is seven inches long and will decrease my fpe but I didn’t want to piss off the neighbor. I finally squeeze the trigger for my first shot ever and it is so quiet that all I hear is the pellet hitting the black bark ground cover I am firing into. It’s as if the MCT was silent. There was no tank ping and no hammer slap that I could hear. All I can hear is the impact of my pellet! By the way the trigger is just sweet!!! I look at my chrono and it’s showing an error. I shoot again and it doesn’t even see the shot. The third time it registers and shows me a number. I was able to get a total of 7 shots read before the chronograph wouldn’t see a thing no matter how many times I tried. This string won’t really mean anything because there were a few shots that didn’t register but at least I got some to get an idea of what to expect later on.

Here are the seven shots with the additional 7″ moderator on the barrel and in very poor lighting conditions. I will have some real data sometime this weekend when I can shoot during the day. Remember there are other shots in between these shots that didn’t register and I don’t know how accurate a chronograph can be when it can barely read a few shots with the low light conditions. I also did not take the time to make sure each shot was the same exact angle or distance from the chronograph. I was using Beeman Kodiak 21.14 grain pellets.

878, 883, 881, 881, 883, 880, 884 and that’s all she wrote for now

With the addition of the 7″ moderator, the MCT is the quietest air rifle I have ever heard with no comparisons. If I were indoors and shot it next to you, it wouldn’t even startle you unless you were extremely jumpy. We are talking mouse fart quiet without any type of tank ping or hammer slap! This is on full power and you would swear it wasn’t working right.

Without the additional moderator, the MCT is not loud but I wouldn’t call it quiet either. It is still quieter than a unmodified Talon SS but Daystate’s claim of “virtually silent” is far from the truth if shooting on high power. When they say this on their adds I’m sure they are talking about the regular Airwolf probably set to 12 fpe. I can honestly say that it is virtually silent when used with the moderator I have for it and I am shooting on the full/high power setting! I will do some comparisons later on to see how the factory stock MCT compares in sound to the factory stock Edgun with no additional SM attached to either one. I should be off this friday and will get a chance to really shoot her so I can post some real numbers.

I guess I should clean up my car before I sleep. Luckily I have some of that pet urine odor neutralizer. 😆

Just wanted to say congrats on the new gun……..Fricking sweet!!!!

The story gets better but I have to go eat and I’ll post tonight. I did manage to get 7 shots read before the chrono wouldn’t even register an error. I’ll post later tonight for sure. I’m rushing off to meet some people for dinner.

quote Varminter:

I had to work out of town today and of course brought the MCT so I could play with it after work. I was charging the battery all day yesterday and haven’t even turned her on yet! Two hours into my 3 hour drive to work I had a panic attack when I realized that I had left the keys for the MCT at home!!! Far from home and already running late, there was no turning back. Luckily I had a short day and was fortunate enough to cancel my hotel without being charged for my brief stay. I am currenly driving home and I don’t know if there’ll be enough daylight to get some chrono numbers. Remembering a key for an air rifle was the last thing on my mind this morning. What a super high tech air rifle rookie mistake! 😆

Key to my gun room is on the car’s key fob with my car key (the ONLY 2 keys I carry). Sounds like that would have been a good call for you today 😉

LOL, that is funny… You are excused.. That is very understandable….
Possible to get a copy made for the key chain?
