Q:

Decibel Meter’s on sale at Radioshack

$39.99

You can get another $10 off by buying a low priced item just to get a receipt. Fill out a short survey online using the info from the receipt(doesnt need registration or any personal details) and get a $10 coupon off $40 and then go back and buy the meter

End price is $29.99 plus two low price items (check around, they usually have something on sale for 97 cents or less) you used to get the coupon and then to push the $39.99 over $40 to make the coupon valid

Seems to work fine for airguns, will at least give a reference point for those messing with baffles and shrouds on Talons so you can see (hear) if it gets better or worse.

Did you read the reviews for the apps?

I read them, but figured I may as well try it anyway…decibel meter for iphone – Here is a screenshot of it from my phone

Nearly any relatively loud noise (anything above 80db measured on the radioshack meter for example) will pin it at 105.6db and thats the highest it will read.

Maybe android app’s are better…. but the $30 was cheaper than an early termination fee and new phone.

Or just install “decibel meter” or something similar on your smart phone, and get the same results. 😉
