Q:

Detuning r3m to 12 fpe Uk limit

Hi folks
Took delivery of a brand new r3m yesterday .
I live in the UK.
I had to get this shipped in from holland as there are no uk suppliers .

Ive not used it yet ( still waiting for scope mounts )

The guy where i got it from said he has turned power down .
He has done this by adjusting the hammer spring tension .

Is this method alone good enough to give me maximum performance?
Or will the regulator need turning down? Ect

Also ive noticed that the cycling is a little harder than id like,
And the indexing lever looks like its chewing away at the magazine !
Will this improve ?

chronod gun today, running a little high. now run at 11.9 fpe will 16gr diablos .

only got 5 fps deviation on 10 shot string dwon gun shop.

im going to put a few tins of pellets through it , then get reg pressure turned down and get mag indexing polished up

still not shot at range , but hopfullt tomorrow morning if weather is ok ! 🙂

I have trialed lower Edgun tunes and it can ne done very sucessfully..
I needs to be wound down on the reg.. if you turn the reg screw clockwise from 12 oclock to about 9 oclock it will get you in the ball park for use at 12ftlbs. Use only JSB 14.3gr pellets for best results. Back the hammer spring right off and fine tune from there.
No need to alter the transfer port but if it was my own gun I would shorten the valves plenum, keep the reg presure a little higher and alter the poppet dwell with a new return spring.. you will get better consistacy and shot cout this way.
pleny of info already posted here in regards to a smoother action and mag wear topics..

Thats great !!

Im going to see how i get on with it for a while first .
But this edgun is defiantly a keeper , so will be getting this done .

Anyone comment on the mag cycling being a bit stiff ?

Would it benefit from a polish and relube ?

No worries Pippo, great minds and all that 😎

Happy to be of assistance !

Hi Cad,

I had just found the name and updated my reply, at the same time you’ve sent yours.

You are right, it was Lol Moore, he did an excellent job IMHO.

Lol Moore is the chap in the UK
I think he did some internal sleeving of the reg as well as a 3mm transfer port
Reg pressure was taken down to about 90 bar (6 o’clock)
Just found a link to the BBS site in the UK that is on the very subject

Hope this helps

Hi Mato,

last year there was an UK mate on here that did an excellent customization job on a Lelya and an excellent (complete) detuning job on a matador.

I don’t remember his name but if you use the search function you should be able to find his posts.

(Actually I think his member name was Lol Moore, check his posts)

Apart of this, this section of the forum is the meeting point of the foremost worldwide experts of matadors, so you should be able to get all the information you need.

Please use the search function because a lot of things have already been posted.

ATB 😀

Cheers

Any idea what reg pressure and size transfer port ?

12 fpe may be measly , but i value my freedom 🙂

You need to turn down the reg and put a washer to alter the transfer port to be able to get down to a measly 12 fpe. The HST alone doesn´t cut it. Sorry , and welcome. Stay clear from those weirdo´s H 😯 😯 T, Tango and Coda ! 😯
