Q:

Did the O-ring/Fender Washer thing……

….. and it worked GREAT!!!

I went ahead and set the tophat to .087″ and then slipped a rubber washer over the tophat. I believe the washer was 1/16″ thick and was loose enough to allow free travel of the valve.

I was trying to get 20 fpe out of the Hi Flo valve. Sounds counter-intuitive but I wanted to see if it would shoot that low before I tried out the .177 barrel. I went ahead and filled to my normal 2800 psi and then shot a 70 shot string from 686 to 720 (it was still climbing when I quit). The tank was down to 2100. The average was 707 which is right at 20 fpe with 18.1 JSB. It’s really cool that this was such an easy (and easily reversible) fix. Oh, I had to turn the powerwheel down to near zero.

Based on how the shot string developed, it looks like I I should have 45-50 shots from a 2500 fill.

you can have the same power ss, just turn the top hat up,but it will save air and be more consistant with the right tune.

i leave the oring in even when shooting 32 grain eujines at 1000 fps

I’ve become a convert after doing it to my gun. Less power and less wasted air. Very consistent.
