Q:

Different Hammer

Has anyone used this style hammer or similar? I bought about 8 years ago from a fellow named Drum at Leupy’s Customs. It is a two piece barrel guided hammer consisting of brass and bearing grade engineering plastic. The two pieces are pressed together. The brass portion does not touch the barrel or frame while the engineering plastic portion rides on the barrel but does not touch the frame. It came with a stainless steel spring and spring “centraliser.” I use it with a one piece “top hat”. I have two one piece “top hats.” One from Talon Tunes and the other from Pcptunes that I threaded to accept the 1/4×20 restrictor. The plastic portion is chamfered where it contacts the breech helping to eliminate “hammer slap.” With the power wheel at minimum, I still have full “top hat” travel necessitating the need for a restrictor. I am also using Talon Tunes carbon fiber tank @3600psi. The hammer weighs 100 gram. The picture shows the lighter hammer as the pics for mine are too large to post. The only difference is the brass portion.
