Do the NEW Mutant Shortys have a longer barrel?
:hoot:
I’ve read that the Shorty Mutants are now being made with a 13.5″ barrel. Does anyone know if that is true? Have they been shipped yet?
I feel the Shorty needs a couple more inches of barrel to max out it’s potential performance.

Actually I don’t know.
Have seen some advertised but outside the schengen area and going through the customs is a nightmare.
Actually even buying within the schengen area but in another country became now a nightmare because of the increased security measures on shipped goods. If you declare it as an airgun probably the carrier won’t accept it and if you don’t, if it gets checked then easily they seize it for whatever reason and you simply can say goodbye to it (27 countries with 27 different legislations concerning guns and shipping  )
Don’t know if you have seen the new proposals concerning firearms in the EU, if they make it to legislation then we are simply fuc*ed.
Now I buy only in local shops where unfortunately availibity is scarce (or non existent) and prices are high but at least at the end you get something for your money.
Also optics are becoming difficult to find and to buy.
Probably we should start to look for another hobby or be happy to pay 1000+$ for a 2 ft/lbs airgun  .
Pippo, do you know where you can buy mutants in Europe?
All the positive reviews are accurate.
I have about three left in stock. They sell fast.

Oh Man,
would I be able to get them in europe at this price I would have one in every shape and colour.
:8:
D Man makes a good point,
but I have the Listone barrel on my shorty and it loves every pellet I put in it,
I am a CZ barrel fan but they can be a little picky on pellets,
I am just going to set back and wait and see what happens ,

Looks like the barrel must set deeper into the shroud than the short Shorty! Interesting. Note the shroud doesn’t extend any further over the air cylinder on the new one than the old one.
Hoot:
How do I get one…or is it already on the new in stock Shorty’s?
Hoot:
Hoot you already have a shorty so 2 options….
buy a new barrel and have it machined to fit, then you have to have the parts for the shroud made up.
new barrel gonna run you 125 – 165 $ then machining. 100$ then have the parts made up . probably cost yah another 75$
And this is being conservative .
Or
Buy one from tony … then sell yours . in the end theres no down time and it will probably cost less going this route (depending on what you get for yours)
I have had the latest release of Taipan Shorts With authentic CZ in for quite a while…

Just got my shorty today. ~13.5″ as well. Chrono ticket that came with it had it set around 800fps. Haven’t had time to chrono it myself yet, but did shoot a few pellets in the trap in my basement. This thing is quieter than my 760 Powermaster at 3 pumps.
