Q:

Do the projects ever end? No, cause we love this hobby PT2

My newest one!

I love this stuff!

Not to much to tell as of yet as this will be ongoing till its done.

The one thing for certain though is it will be .25 cal. This one will replace my Rapid 25.

Its .177 now and I look very forward the mods and the end result.

On this project, anyone with experience with BAM B50 airguns is more than welcome to offer up IDEAS. I have some in mind but i am open to any idea out there on what and how this gun should end….

Thanks for staying tuned!

Looking good Ced!!! My BAM 50 in .25 is almost complete too! I’ve done nothing with the stock as of yet- I’m going to fill in that cut down area of the fore end, and replace the buttpad with a pachmayr pad. I will also reshape the cheek piece, but keep the height. I may even add an adjustable cheek piece, if I find that the cheek piece is too low for scope use. But I’m thinking it’ll be fine. I’m going for the M40A1 type look, with the same camo pattern.

Rifle/stock

Buttpad

I’ll also add some sling swivels too. The stock shouldn’t take too much time. I’m kicking around the idea of getting the stock copied in laminate once it’s done, so it’s all one material. Then I’ll paint that tri-color camo pattern.

OK, i lied a little, i did reshape the stock and apply a little finish:

STILL WAITING ON DOUGS SLOW ASS THOUGH>>>>>>>lol!

Unfortunately NO. Still waiting on some machine work. Hell, waiting on it to START!

Any progress?

LAM, yes there is slightly. I’ve worked on the stock cause i can’t mess with the tuning of the gun until i can get Doug to start on my barrel installation.

Starting the slow process of modding this gun with the stock.

The ORIGINAL (but maybe not final) goal is to have the OEM stock have the profile of the BSA R10 stock.

At the butt of the stock that is. I really like what BSA did with their stock. Its one of the sharpest looking shapes around in my opinion. While weight is not a issue with this gun IMO, I realize that removing wood to take the stocks final shape will result in weight loss. So I start off by weighing the stock complete with trigger guard and recoil pad to get a rough idea of the starting weight.

Next up, I draw a life size TEMPLATE of the stock and add the curvature of the BSA R10’s stock:

I then sand the rear of the stock where the stock will be modified:

I then cut out the template and stencil it over the stock:

Next up is to start cutting on the stock then shape it and SAND DOWN the entire stocks finish.

Hi Ced, any updates on this project yet?

Sweet! 25 as in pellets, .25 auto for slugs, or .257? Looks like a fine project in any case. Enjoy…:D
cheers,
Douglas

Can’t wait to see what you do with it, was thinking along the same lines 😎

Already up to my ears in projects, but you can never have too many 😯

Sound to me like a beefy 2240. Maybe a new project in my future?

May want to double check with http://flyingdragonairrifles.org/ and make sure they’re still available!! Last I saw, they were going pretty quick!

can someone please explain what can be done to these guns?

How much money do you have?

Honestly, anything WITHIN REASON can be done. I’m in the process of converting mine to 7mm. Here’s a thread from the GTA, where the builder converted his BAM 50 to .357…

can someone please explain what can be done to these guns? I assume they are like the crosman 2240/13xx in the fact that almost every part on them can be exchanged for something better. Not real sure what I would do with one of these.

Yep Mike, she is gone for ever.

But its ok, we had some good times, GREAT TIMES i MEAN and they will never be forgotten. Its time for a new girl and to make some new memories….

It’s already gone

What do mean-Replace yourRAPID??? WTF??? Your not getting rid of the Rapid. Oh No Your Not!! No, NO, No!!! 😯
