Q:

Does anyone here follow a special diet or is into nutrition?

I am currently downloading a movie called Food Matters because a friend referred it to me. Its really interesting to learn how the top killers in North America can be prevented with good nutrition.

1. Heart Disease
2. Cancer
3. Abusing medication (I found this to be very interesting because most things doctors give you have negative side effects)

Taking care of your body should be the most important priority but like most people fun or paying the bills comes first.

I’m only 28 years young and want to live a long healthy life. The future will bring some really neat Airguns too ๐Ÿ™‚

Not even if you use it as an enema as Sir Jiji does?

Beer works better that way don’t it?

There is currently no scientific evidence to support the claims that it cures cancer or any other disease.

Don’t worry, Zombie; Sirjeigo is only bringing Noni up as they sponsor him.

Have you ever heard about Tahitian Noni Juice?

The most significant nutrient feature of noni juice is its high vitamin C content, this level in the noni juice blend provides only about half the vitamin C of a raw navel orange. The noni juice blend is otherwise similar in micronutrient content to a raw orange.

The bottom line – The noni fruit is just like a papaya, pineapple, or mango. While noni juice can be consumed as part of an overall healthy diet, it is not a miracle cure. There is currently no scientific evidence to support the claims that it cures cancer or any other disease.

A registered dietitian by trade sounds cool. I look forward to watching the film “Food Matters” and am not sure if it’s by Mark Bittman.

I’m a regular on CAF and TAF btw and am a part time ninja too ๐Ÿ™‚

In regards to medication abuse, look at what happened to Heath Ledger. Western medicine is quite different from eastern because they don’t focus much not the source of the problem but by treating the symptoms. I think that preventative is better than cure, because it’s usually to late when you need one.

Cancer is another issue and i think hormones in dairy/meat can be very harmful. it’s very difficult to avoid these days but as long as we’re aware of it then we can make better choices. We are what we eat. Natural foods should be cheaper not expensive.

I swear by it because it’s changed my life and so many positive ways. I write up about it on my site http://www.multilevelmoves.com

It’s good to share valuable info with someone with experience in this field. I think it’s a great service to help make the world a better place.

I’m a Registered Dietitian by trade, so that makes me pretty much an expert on the topic. Is the film you’re referring to related to the book by the same name, “Food Matters”, by Mark Bittman?

If so I’d be VERY skeptical of anyone who quotes the United Nations report “Livestockโ€™s Long Shadow” which inaccurately speculated about the impact of meat production on the environment. That report has been totally debunked, multiple times.

I’m not going to argue about heart disease being the number one killer in this country, however I would argue that it cannot be prevented through diet alone. At least one third of cardiovascular disease in America is attributable to tobacco and alcohol use, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and obesity.

Diet can certainly contribute to obesity, as being grossly overweight is a leading cause of death in and of itself. You also can’t ignore smoking and physical inactivity. There are individuals among us that have a genetic predisposition to crank out vast amounts of cholesterol – especially the bad kind. The condition is referred to as “familial hyperlipidemia”, and cannot be controlled without high doses of statins no matter how stringent their diet.

Cancer is too broad of a diagnosis to state that nutrition can prevent all types from occuring. Certain types of breast cancer and stomach cancer respond well to nutriton therapy. Others not so much.

As far as abusing medication being a top killer in North America, sounds pretty fishy to me, I’d have to examine that statement in the proper context in order to form an opinion yah or nay…

I do applaud your enthusiasm to lead a healthy lifestyle at 28 years of age! If I’m not mistaken didn’t you have videos of yourself on the Canadian Airgun Forum practicing martial arts and stunt tumbling?

I’m on a see food diet. I see it I eat it.

Nah, but really I should be.
