Does anyone here use a 3×9 scope for anything…
…other than hunting? I have found them to be useless for trying to shoot groups. Most of the ones I have are “fixed” and meant for longer ranges to focus clearly…which brings me to my next question (rhetorical, I am not looking to buy one…) is there a 3×9 with an AO?
The reason for this querry is that I really wanted to keep my nikon 3×9 on my new talon SS. It is a very light and well balanced for offhand in the bush…but I also like to shoot some “one hole” groups from time to time, and this scope does not allow me to do that 😡

3-9 does seem to be the deer hunters favorite. Usually fixed parallax of 100 yards.
That being said I do actually have a cheapo 3-9 with an AO. It’s not a very good scope, but they are out there. 😀
Why are you having trouble shooting groups with yours, and at what range? My cz has a leapers 3.5-10 tactical with a fixed parallax of 150 yards, and I have no trouble with it. I have to zoom all the way out to shoot down to 25 yards, can’t go over 7ish for 50 yards, and can finally use 10x at 100 yards. I can stack .22lr ammo all day at 25 yards, even with the lower magnification. Heck, back when the scope was on my blaser 10x got me soda can accuracy at 500 yards. Super high magnification isn’t necessary to shoot small groups. 😀
