Don’t ya just love It when something works!
Hope it OK to post this here. If not, well, oop’s on my part, and remove if necessary.
I Received an LDC from Mr. Neil Clague this week, and it has been such bad weather, with freezing rain and blowing mist, that I haven’t been able to re-sight the gun, or so much as test the LDC, but she’s a Beaut for sure!
Here is an E-Mail that I just sent Mr. Clague.
Thank You so Much Neil!
You have received a High compliment today. And an un-solicited at that.
We are covered in ice right now. Can’t go anywhere. A really freak Ice storm here. Well, My Second generation Female Fox is no doubt having a hard time of it right now. I have been picking up ultra Bar-S hot dogs, and giving it to her when it is bad for hunting. (her normal game is dug in right now).
Well, we have a marauding FC that is raising havoc with the new born rabbits, and Road Runners. Haven’t’ been able to run it off. Tried everything. And It’s been killing everything it can. (Remember, we live out in the boonies)..
Well, tonight, I saw it attack the Mama Fox, and then disappear for a while. I checked a while later, and I could see it stalking the Fox. I hadn’t had the chance to sight the .257 in due to weather since installing your LDC, but I took the chance. At least if nothing else, perhaps it would run the FC off.
I slowly opened the front door of the house, switched on the light on the gun, and the cat continued to advance on her prey. I placed the cross hair on the FC’s shoulder and fired. I could see the 70gr. .257 hollow points base easily in the light almost like a tracer. At a later lasered 42 yards, it streaked exactly to the the shoulder as aimed., It connected with a LOUD Kerrr-WHOP!!! The impact was very much louder than the firing cycle at the muzzle.
The FC flipped side ways, and it was twitching legs up, then nothing. The Female Fox heard the hit, and attacked the FC immediately. But There was nothing to fight. The FC was DRT!
When I closed the door, (I had used the door frame for a rest), Manuela said, “I think your Low on Air” It really sounded weak. are you sure it did the job? LOL!!!
Now don’t ya just love it when something works just “right”. :8:
