Don’t you think, guys, EDgun looks better in this stock?
This is soft-touch cover. To me it is very pleasant to touch, it is like a rubber. To me with this black stock it looks more natuaral. What is your oppinion?

Why doesn’t someone in the US manufacture replacement stocks? Black would be nice also lighter. :fishinghole:
YES only thing I wished I could improve on the R3 stock was to have the option for a black stock, wood or soft touch, AND finger grooves! Would be perfect then. Finger grooves make guns a lot lot more comfortable for me and I think people would eat up these new stocks with them. As long as they are the same beautiful quality as the wood. And that way people can have 1 stock for woods walking and 1 for the bench where they won’t mess it up and still keep the resale value high.

Personally, I like the walnut look; both versions are fine looking. How does the weight compare?
It’s most important to improve the valve stems’ durability/longevity, magazine indexing (some models) and parts/customer support. Serial numbers can be used to identify parts that change within model type: e.g. serial # 0876 to 0976 .25 cal includes a valve with “x” dimensions. This way, parts can be ordered correctly and customers don’t have disassembled guns lying around, waiting for parts. Reassembly is always easier when the disassembly is fresh in your mind.
As a customer, I’ll wait until the above issues are resolved before purchasing another, regardless of the looks. I appreciate Ed’s involvement here and like the overall designs.
Besides, if Ed fixes these relatively minor issues, Machine Gun’s tirades will become obsolete and maybe he’ll shut the fuck up!

The black tactical/synthentic stock looks great! Now, only if we could feel it in our own hands to test. Maybe you can send a test stock to one of our more knowledgable Edgun enthusiast to give a true opinion.

I have a 22 cal R3 with the soft touch finish and like it alot, prefer it. None of these finishes are indestructible. With that said, I mostly hunt with this rifle and just have one very small wear spot where the back of the breach meet the stock.
Ed, because of my manly sized hands, I would only want to have a multi-shot. It is a challenge to manipulate pellets. I am not worried about a follow-up shot. I am concerned about loading for the next bird. I hope I can receive one for my R3 soon and would buy a 30cal multi in a heartbeat.

I have black finished Maddog stock on my Stubby Talon and my Marauder with the bullpup hit. I really like the feel of them. Any chance we can get the grips improved like this one? 😀 A little slimmer would really help.

That said, – make no mistake: The black stocks are NOT synthetic but covered wood stocks as I understand it. Wear and tear just may be an issue even with the best of coatings…….. 😉
