Q:

double hammer weight

Putting together a talodor & wonder can you run 2 hammer weights without any trouble. I have two weights laying around. A weight in front & one behind the hammer.

No because because now the hammer is pre loaded even more. Hammer spring shouldn’t be pretty loaded a lot until you turn the power wheel.

quote Dyotat100:

You mean 6.4 lb spring. You wouldn’t be able to cock a 18 lb spring. Stock is 4.7 lb.

I run a 13 lb in my .308 and it’s a side cocker on the hammer. Breech does not cocktail the gun

Sorry! “My bad”! You’re absolutely right Dyotat! 6.2lb the max load is 18lb. Anyway, it made a huge difference in my rig. Do you agree with NOT stacking additional weights?

I, personally, would run a heavier than stock hammer ( contact Tony at Talon Tunes) and a heavy hammer spring. Stacking additional parts inside the frame MAY give you problems. Also, by placing a steel weight between the hammer and the breech will most likely cause additional hammer slap noise.
I run a 95gm hammer and one of Tony’s 18lb springs in my Talon-Dor. Works great! Tons of power and not too noisy!
