I have 5 Haleys, one of them a Jackhammer,500 +fpe .All the power you would want to hunt with.Your money would be better spent on a Haley.Jack & Reba are super nice people to deal with. That’s why I have 5 & counting.

Beautiful guns and worth the wait from everything I have heard. I don’t think you will be that happy with the imports Cab, see if you can test one before you plunk down the $$… πŸ˜‰

I have a DS that I built into a bullpup, shoots good w/hornady rb,but I would’nt hunt w/ it pass 50yrds. hey caboose i looked into this myself to find that if you truly want big bore power than the DS is not always the way to go….the valve setup on them is already close to max and their isnt much room to work with once your inside..so yes you can get more power but at what cost (reliabilty, safety)…i had a chance to talk to Jack Haley about building me a coustom .45 with 300fps of energy and its looking like $750 shipped to my door πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ i think it would be worth your while to give him a call….
i’ve almost got enough saved up to get my gun started..

Had several tuned Slayers…
they can be ramped up some and there are several tuners capable
truth is tho the Sam Yang is a far better choice if you want max power.
A further truth is you will be money ahead simply ordering one of Jack Haley’s JackHammer .45s
You will get a hand crafted made in the USA rifle with a sweet walnut stock and better than 300FPE performance for likely less than you will have into a DS with a full tune and longer barrel.

how much these rifles can be tuned ?

I think you are relating to Sheer Power 😯

About longer Barrel : The dragon slayer is about 41.30″ in length. Max you would wish to go would be 50″ so that gives you 9″ of extra barrel.

If I were to relate that to a Talon/Condor in .22 I would get a jump of 100 fps (approx) because of the barrel extension. But here we are talking about a .50 cal which is a heavy slug. Best way you could get going with power would be playing around with the valve port.

Now that’s an expertise job and you might have to give up on accuracy and shot to shot consistency when such tweaks are done.

If you find the right doctor for this job then you might get some add on power with accuracy. Best of Luck !!!

Perhaps someone who has owned one and played around with it shed some more light.
