DYOTAT100’s Shrouded .308………..SHHHHHHHHH!
This is an UNEDITED (the actual video) clip from the other day with Doug and I shooting.
He pulls out his 308 and begins to take his 1st shot with it. I was adjacent to him shooting my TD257. After i shot, i hear this weird hssssssing sound that i’ve never heard before. I thought he might have slowly BLED the air from his fill whip or something. Real slow….:lol:
NO, IT WAS HIS FREAKIN 308 shooting over 230 FPE at 230+ yards. Now, i’ve heard it before but it was an earlier shroud and it’s been months since then. I’ve also heard it in his garage but OMG, A garage is the worst place to listen for SILENCE while testing shrouds. It doesn’t do a shroud justice. But neither does a video camera. But you guys get my point.

yes, cause it doesn’t produce the volume of air per shot as the 308. Nor is the muzzle report of the 257 louder than the 308.
So yes, it should be quieter

Well, thank all of you GREAT Tag guys for watching the video.
I personally feel Dougs shroud is super quiet especially to be on a 250 FPE gun. I can only imagine what my TD257 at 160-180 FPE would sound like with that Shroud on it. 😯
Again, the camera mic is a funny device and seriously, the shroud is just a notch quieter than what you all heard.
But, at some point, i wanna get the gun firing without the shroud then with the shroud. The gun is F’in loud without the shroud…….TRUST ME….lol!
VRABLIC/THEODOR, that shroud doesn’t affect accuracy. Doug had no issues what so ever nailing cans 1 SHOT EACH at 250 yards with the 308.
But, for you, EVEN THOUGH I “DON’T” want to, i will ask Doug to let me keep his 308 for a month to do some accuracy testing and video taping 😆

I’m jelious of Doug and Cedric. The get to go out shooting with each other and have a great time.
They are both a couple of great airgunners with a vast amount of knowledge and experience. They are more than willing to take the time to talk to you, answer your PM’s and E mails, (and in quick order I might add :D) to help you with questions (and have I had a lot of them 😯 )
They are really a great asset to both TAG and the airgunning community.
Yes besides being the best for cast bullet power mods on af rifles, he is simply a great guy.

That’s bad ass. What is the specs? How accurate? Wanted to thank you again for helping me out. I had very little cash behind on mortgage and couldn’t walk. All I could really do is shoot my airgun for fun. Doug contacted me when I was asking about how to fix my gun and said send it to him. He then sent it back bad ass with a custom shroud. I would definitely recommend all his products.

Doug just told me. I was mistaken. My valve is nearly ready. My rifle is finished. Now just anodizing and valve and she’ll be back in my bed again 😛

Bad news is I won’t be making these anymore after I finish the builds I have and promised shrouds for.
To much time involved to make one. I am working on one for my .257 and I will have 10 hrs into it probably by the time it’s done. It is longer than normal and that is some or the reason. It just takes to long to make all the pieces and cut male and female threads on them.
I asked the shop building my valves for a price and they were afraid to give me one. Plus it would have to be a unfinished one that I could finish for different caliber and different barrel OD. Then there is the problem of the different lengths.
Just not worth it.
