Q:

Earnest need your help Cricket leaking from valve end

Earnest I have rebuild my Cricket once all new orings, I acquired a leak on the second hole replaced all the orings like I did before, the only thing I did different this time was change the oring inside the regulator, the small one that is on the spring washers, belview I believe they are called, the ones stacked together on the valve stem. The one that was in there was flat and hard so I was sure that was my problem, Well I went to a slow leak to a steady fast leak, as soon as I start to fill the air tube it leaks out the second hole from the breach end of tube the end with the regulator and valve assemble, I have taken it apart several times cleaned relubled the orings checked all I can think of and still as soon as I try and fill the air tube it pours out the second small hole on air tube?? I have an oring kit I bought from you is that oring a 2mm x 9.5 or a 2mm x 10mm v75 is what I have in the o ring kit I have. Also is there a list of what size oring goes where? I also have two different orings the same size 3mm x 24 mm Buna N 70 and V75 Viton not sure what I used on the o.d of valve and regulator but this should not matter ??? I am assuming? Anyway getting frustrated and I am thinking the one on the spring washers is causting the leak? every thing else I watched your videos. let me know your thoughts on this, I still think it has to be the oring on the the valve assembly maybe I have the wrong size oring on there? like I said I put a 2mm x 9.5 or a 2 mm x 10 let me know as soon as possible planning a get together end of this week thanks Eddie

Ya, but heads up on the Barrel ID/Breech O-ring size for my 22, I think Ernest got mines wrong in my kit ?
It’s a 1.5mm x 5.5 mm, not 1.5mm x 5 mm.

Just wanted to post the pleasant experience I had with Ernest Rowe, he helped me find the leaking problem on my Cricket and basically went through my gun and fixed some other issues on leaking. He is very good at working on these guns and very helpful through emails and phone calls, I think he likes to use email to resolve problems, but will also answer calls. Great guy to have here on TAG. I would recommend :fishinghole: if you have a problem get in touch with him, he will fix you right up!!

that is what I need to do, nice way of storing o rings for sure thanks for the picture

Metric O-rings are measured from the ID, so 2mm is the thickness and 4mm is the ID.
If you need to know the OD, (2mm x 2 ) + 4mm = 8mm OD

ok you say the 2x4mm are you talking o.d and i.d on the 2×4 mm or thickness? I don’t have any of those in my kit, and not sure but I think I bought the o ring kit from you? not a big deal but I used a 1.5 x 3.5 V75 so you are telling me I used the wrong o ring like I posted? a 2mm x4mm is really small I do not have any in my kit? not sure what the one I used is for? and I replace the two outer orings on the regulator but like I said I went to a small leak to a large leak so I have to beleve it is leaking from the oring inside the regulator? the one I change was not the correct one then?? sorry for all the questions i have to many projects going on and this one was a simple oring change. I also change the one on the spring washers inside the regulator I used a 2mm x 9.5 this is the one that goes on the spring washers on the back side where the spring washers are stacked

Some added info for you also.

Make sure to replace the reg spacer, after setting it aside it’s easy to forget.

Deburr any sharp edges on the treads on the way in with 600g wet sandpaper.

More to read here too.

It’s the 2x4mm that usually the one that wear out–it’s under the black delrin adjustable seat on the reg. and any of the 4 oring on the reg leak—will leak through the 2nd hole.
