Ed, about your barrel specifications
Ed,
What is the story behind how you came to select the barrels you use? How did you come to think of the specs (the goal) of having the 18 grain pellet shoot as fast as they do, and be accurate at long distances? Did you consider other barrel makers? I’m asking because I’ve been accepting the best stable speed of the 18 grain pellet as in the area of 880~900 fps, below spiraling speeds, but your pellet speeds are higher, and apparently don’t spiral. How is this? Or am I misunderstanding something?

thanks for the reply, Whisper. Maybe with a few more replies, Ed just might chime in, and let us know what he was thinking. To my exposure (mainly from lots of posts on the Yellow about stable domed-diabolo pellet speed regimes) it’s a real brain-teaser trying to sort how a hot speed as with the 18 grain (or the even hotter speed with the 16 grain as posted by Keyser Soze here: http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=31172 ) with accuracy. How did he come to the specs he’s using. I’m not wanting proprietary secrets, of course, but a little insight to the “dream”.

what fps do you get Darry? If it’s shooting hot and straight, then it’s good news for long distance and flatter trajectory. And , do you get enough shots out of a fill?
