Q:

EDGE release date change

When did the EDGE release date get set back by six months? Pyramyd is now showing it to be in stock 12-15-08. VonBrink

One time I ordered AA Diabolo Hunter pellets, and although the AA Diabolo Field pellets were out of stock, guess what I got? I got two tins of the field pellets – even though they were supposedly out of stock for another month. The pellets were smashed to pieces anyways, I seriously think they take returned tins and try to send them out again, hoping that every now and then somebody will keep them and they save themselves some money.

🙄

i had an AA410 classic show up (even though i had ordered an erb)

they told me to hold on to it until they could get me an erb…3 days later allthough they where sold out an erb showed up…new not a single fingerpring or sign of wear on it (website still said they had none)

granted i have bought alot there, while helping out people in europe get their stuff a little cheaper….so when they look me up they see a good customer…

i havent had a bad deal with them, except one…i ordered the heavy duty pellet trap from them…its 70 bucks…other sites have it for 40…that pisses me off, at least they accepted my coupon.

Then how many will it take?

Two wrongs dont make a right 😉

Hey, you started it ).

Oh – So you were thread jacking ? 😆

I was actually talking about the order you had two years ago ). The edge I think its most likely on Airforce’s end.

Or they might have had a return, or they might have found one that was put on the wrong shelf, or Tom Gaylord might have taken one for a spin and brought it back, or it may just have been an act of providence that wanted me to get my gun that day.

No matter what the reason – I don’t think Pyramid got a small shipment of edges and then back ordered the remaining back orderee’s (or orderette’s) even further so I’m betting no regular consumer who ordered an edge from Pyramid will get one for a while.

It could be back ordered and then when they get some in they fill as many as they can but they dont have enough to fill all the orders. So they are still on back order.

1 or 2 years ago I ordered an IZH-46M that was back ordered to some date about a week in the future, on that date the back order date went back a month, but an IZH-46M showed up in the mail about 8 days after I ordered it…

While the website still showed back ordered 1 month away, then that date came and it was extended another month. I stopped checking at that point because I realized they either have it or they dont. If they say they don’t, they might be wrong, but if they really don’t then they have no idea when they will.

If you are waiting on Pyramyd…. dont hold your breath. They are famous for setting a date and for whatever reason.. waiting till that exact date and then changing it to a later date.

I’ve gotten frustrated with them for that very reason and *if* I order from them, I call ahead to ensure that an item is in stock. Even then, it’s a crapshoot.

Who knows why, but my suspicion is there’s a regulator in the mix, and they are having trouble getting it fine tuned.

Thinking about it another way, what could they possibly be doing differently with the Edge that isn’t simply a slight alteration of a Talon/Condor? CNC programs are easily modified to leave more meat in the scope rail, so it wouldn’t be that. A longer frame to allow a factory shrouded 18 or 24″ barrel isn’t a stretch that would cause delay. Perhaps it’s the tank. Is there anything special about the size of the Edge tank, that would cause it to be significantly harder to procure? The stock seems pretty straight forward and easily manufactured. Internals of the power plant are a no-brainer. That leaves the valve. If the Micro-Meter tank is so efficient and precise, it would seem they’re readily made and installed, if they were going to use the Micro-Meter tank in the Edge. That’s what leaves me thinking it’s gotta be a regulator. And could it be any coincidence that Mika Malo stopped publicly testing and posting about his regulator. Now, this is just straight up speculation, I’ve got no reason to think he’s working with Airforce, or that they’ve purchased his design, other than the usual rumor-mill stuff that we’ve heard off and on for a little while. No hard evidence, yet, anyway. But I’m crossing my finger that it is a regulated tank and that it’s Mika’s design they’re using, as it had a certain elegance about it.

When I talked to someone at Airforce a month or so ago, asking about the Edge, if it would have a regulator, it was vaguely indicated something like that but they stopped short of saying it was regulated. Only that testing it was taking longer than they’d planned. I was given no reason to suspect that it’s NOT regulated.

So, now you know my conspiracy theories, what’s your take?
