Q:

Edgun 12×42

So how are the Edgun scopes treating you? Does anyone have a SWFA 12×42 so you can compare?

Nice, good pics mate.

Thanks, have made similar shims for swfa, work perfectly

Nice, good pics mate.

Very easy to do. I got these from a hardware store and ground em to the right size.

Zeroed the scope. Removed the elevation adjustment turret

Placed the shims.

Refitted and tightened the turret while aligning the zero marking.

All good to go

I have it and am satisfied with it. Have used swfa also. Swfa turrets feel better when turning. Rest everything is as good if not better. I have made zero stop for mine and am enjoying it.

Thanks man, could you share some info on tem zero stops? The scope has been ordered

I have Edscopes for months …and quite satisfied.. i like the 12X44 2nd gen scopes too…and will go to buy one .. i tried it ..i bought one for my friend…it has a thinner reticle ..but i always preferred the 1st gen retucle design.. i hope Ed will come up with new 2nd gen with the same 1st gen reticle but as thin as the current 2nd gen reticle …
Go for it and you won’t be regret

Thanks KS. The reason I askked was it is a pain for Me to get SWFA scopes, and I already have two. So I figured it might be better to try the Edscope since that would be both cheaper and easier for me. I promised myself I would not buy a “made in China” scope again but I have really fallen in love with the fixed power simplicity. And not many choices out there to be honest.

Is this a Fair Price for the scope?

€355 – $376

Let’s just say when I ordered two SWFA 12×42 the shipping and customs added up to a bit more than $76… (But I don’t regret it, love the MQ reticle, sold all my other scopes etc)

What are your thoughts on trying to shoot some groups at 100 yrds with 12x?

I was waiting for someone else so I don’t sound like a salesman. I have every SWFA 10X 12X 16x 20X. I also have the Edgun 12X44. There are pros and cons to both. The Edgun scope has better glass and reticle. I like the side focus better as well. The SWFA turret has better markings (second Mrad row). The Edgun scope has a more generous eye box. The SWFA parallax is more accurate. The EDgun 34 mm tube has better low light capabilities. They both weigh the same and have relatively the same length. They both track correctly.
