Q:

EDgun 2044 has arrived!!!

My EDgun finally arrived yesterday and I had a chance to shoot it today. All I can say is WOW! I will not be selling this one! I bought this with the thought that I’d be able to sell it easily and get all my money back if it wasn’t for me or if it didn’t live up to the hype. The EDgun lives up to the hype and I cannot say enough god things about it. It’s light and shoulders very comfortably. I have not been able to shoot at targets yet and measure groups but I was shooting today up to 80 yards and was hitting everything I was aiming at. I will post a my shot string soon. I knew the EDgun would be accurate but the consistency and efficiency really impressed me. Oh, the EDgun is also very quiet and just has a bit of a small bite if shooting it indoors. I am talking a very small sharpness or bite. When the SM is added, the sharpness disappears and it sounds like the gun is broken or putting out a very weak shot. I crossed my fingers before the first shot and was hoping everything was working right. I then smiled when I shot and heard how hard the pellet hit the target. I am very happy with my EDgun’s performance!!! 😀

I’ll take some better pictures tomorrow with a real camera instead of my iPhone.

EDGUN no. 2044

100 shot string using JSB 18.1 pellets
I forgot to look at the ending pressure so ignore the psi per shot number. The first 50 shots are in red and the second 50 shots in blue. You can see that it didn’t really start dropping off until shot 66 😀

Hey man… 😕 😕 😕 No fair with
the addon moderator.. ….

Mam, anyone, – have you pulled the endcap off the shroud (new design)?

I haven’t. Is the tube threaded? Do we just need some sort of adapter
milled to make the factory add-on from the old design work?

Yea I checked it out… The baffles and the end cap are one piece… I
think I would have to drill and tap the end of the baffle cap and then add
a screw on LDC type mod….Anthoney Storey working on something
up for me that might work… It will be a slipon and it is slotted to slide on
past the air tube..,….

You have to screw the baffles into the shroud and then the whole thing
screws onto the barrel. The baffle has a threaded end…

congratulations Bobby, that is one sweet little rig you have there!

i wonder if tony can make a larger shroud? just take off the one on the gun and replace it with a tony shourd. I also would like it super quiet.
not longer just larger.

Congrats on the Edgun. The add on mod really does a nice job on it 😉

I knew you’d be posting here!!

I chased this thread down so I could throw my .02 in.

I’ve been watching the Edgun storm and everything I read made it sound like it couldn’t possibly shoulder the hype.

After shooting it today, I have to say that my skepticism is almost completely gone. The rifle is VERY light and VERY quiet. Next to a BSA Super Ten it was probably a bit quieter and even without the moderator attached and fired in a small shop it made less or equal noise compared to a Sheridan pumper with maybe 2 pumps. The rifle is very “flickable”, and would let you get on target in an instant. Cheek placement and comfort when using a scope was almost a non-issue. It felt natural and not unlike wood. Carrying it in the field is a joke, as the rifle, even with a scope, feels like a heavy pistol.

After this rifle and scope are set on paper, Varminter will be posting pictures of the stacks of Edgunned Grackles.

From Russia with love, indeed!!

Welcome to the club ! About time isn’t it….

Hey Varminter, we all told you how great the Edgun is! Ain’t she pretty when you first pull her out of the case?

Will it fit in the case with the extra LDC attached? What is the length and OD of the LDC? I v’e got one ordered from Tony, still waiting.

Iv’e got a home made LDC on mine, 6″ long and 1″OD. It sticks out of the case. Makes the cased Edgun look like it is excited to see me. 😆

Yes it still fits in the case and the LDC won’t even touch the side of the case. The factory LDC is 3 and 1/8 inches long and it seems to be 1 inch and 1/4 in diameter when measuring with a tape measure.

Congrat for your new arrival “Matador Standard Bullpup”, it’s a nice looking gun, isn’t it? I would say, this is the best air rifle for small game.

You also got a nice “Pro Chrono Digital”, I have the same kind with the indoor lights + USB data cable, it worked for every shot, no error found since I got it.

Noodles, I think that you could have your end cap drilled and tapped for the add on LDC. The threads are 12mm by 1.0mm.

Yes, it’s the old shroud design. Tony says the new design is not really quieter than the old design, just a different sound. It was very quiet without the SM but it just had a little something left and the add-on SM takes that little something away. I also like that the way it goes on the EDgun makes it not usable for firearms.

tsk, tsk, tsk… you didn’t believe us.

I assume that’s the “old” shroud design.
They say the new shroud design is about the same as the old with the add on. I wish good dB meters were more common as I would love to compare. I would like mine a tad more quite but I have the new design…

Sharp looking rig and I can already see that the size of this rifle would be perfect for where my dad lives and it’s all country with crows sitting by the side of the road but the condor is too big for the job.
