Q:

Edgun 25@940fps @100yds

Back at farm today for more cleanup. Before everyone was up and ready I grab the 25 which is now retuned to 940fps with JSB 25s. Scope is now zeroed at 104yds. 1/2 mildot above zero is 98yd mark. Nice 2-3 mph breeze rt to lt and quartering towards me. Standing with Matador 25 resting on forward arm braced against tree. No hold off for wind, put 98yd 1/2 mil on spot best I could hold and put 5 shots downrange in about 30 seconds.
First five shots of day from a cold shooter and cold gun to 100yd target spot.
Got to love it.

I’m impressed.
That is fabulous performance.
Truth is that would be a good group from a bench……cherry picked groups from the internet not withstanding.

Demp, that’s excellent shooting, even if you missed the thumb 😛

Seriously, you got “minute of chipmunk” accuracy! Without a proper rest, damn impressive.

Demp,
Excellent shooting! That’s not easy off a tree at that distance.

Hi Demp,

Excellent shooting !
That distance supported by a tree, than your target moves arround a lot.
Timming is essentail.

Regards, Robert.

Hoot, Most of us here have found the 31 gr. to start to do strange things past the 80 yard mark. A shame. I hear JSB is coming out with a heavier pellet soon though.

Ever since I went to the .257, ^) gr. bullet, I am having fantastic groups at longer ranges. 😉

Did youever find any .25 bullets to try?

Fine shooting Demp!!! 😀 :8:

I did receive some 45gr slugs and 53gr slugs last week. I just got my new scope mounted, so perhaps I will give the heavy duty stuff a try this week.

Keep in mind I was standing with arm braced against tree and forestock on arm.
I could see reticle moving around dot and I was quick shooting drive by style as 1/2 mil passed over spot. Each heartbeat was moving POA close to an inch around spot. I’m positive if I set it down on bipod and locked butt into shoulder I could tighten up group considerably to MOA easily.

Demp, it would be interesting to see if 30gr Barracudas might close up the spread. I keep hearing how a heavier pellet will carry better than a lighter pellet over long distance. I’m curious to see if that claim carries any validity in real life.

Very nice! I also don’t seem to see the longer range flyer issue with the .25 at higher velocities.
