Edgun .25 long
Need some help. Bought a. 25 off yellow , new reg, new trigger, not all that accurate 1″@45 yards. Also bolt try’s to spring back sometimes when loading.

Is this gun, by chance, the one that was “tuned and action reworked at az? If so, good luck. I was looking at it before my “ship came in” and I was lucky enough to get a r3m. I couldn’t understand why he sent it to az to be tuned down to 860 or something but the gun was currently shooting in the 900s. If you decided to pay someone $$$ to do a pro tune, why would you turn around and undo it all.
I’ve got my 25 long pushing JSB 25s at 940 fps and 45yd groups of 10 is a nice ragged hole.
Your cocking issue most likely is due to nut not tensioned properly against spring by trigger which pushes rod to engage sear.

That’s what I was thinking but when he said loading I thought he might be seeing this when he’s trying to close the bolt. If it’s not locking back when you pull the bolt out all the way then SECODA is right. Screw the nut toward the hammer spring tensioner and use some red locktite

Bolt not catching is the nut on the trigger linkage rod has loosened. Easy fix with a little Loctite once you get the stock off (one bolt).

can you explain in more detail about the bolt?
when you say 915, was that one shot or an average of many and if an avg. what was the spread> 250 bar is too high. get it down to 200-210 and recheck.
Before you take the regulator out you should 1) start at 200 bar and turn the Hammer Spring Tensioner in 2 full turns. Then chrony 3 shots and turn the HST out .25. Repeat this until you see the speed max then drop. Knowing this will help better guestimate how much the regulator needs to be turned down if you intend to tune it for ~890 with a high shot count.
Yes I know 890fps. Is a good starting point. What do you think about the bolt problem.
First, do you shoot other guns better than 1″ at 45 yards? If not, you may need to work on technique.
Next, try filling to 210 bar or less and see if there is a difference. It would also be good to shoot a full chrony string to see what your velocity variation might be.
Next, try tuning it down to 880-890fps and see if that makes a difference.
Report back on how things go and I’m sure you will get lots of help.

what pellets, what speed, what fill pressure?
How about showing us a shot string from 200-120 bar?

This gun was the one y’all though was a scam. Did a little research. Thanks for your help, I was filling to much pressure. Filled to 200 bar, very consistant 900-915 fps. Bolt problems solved. Cleaned barrel with Bilistol, seemed to help, a little windy to check accuracy. Also have a Cricket .25 that shoots 1/2″ groups @ 45 yards. One step at a time.
