Q:

Edgun advice please

Hi All,

I have been reading this forum for some years now and have learnt a lot from you guys. I have a few questions about a new Edgun R3M .22 that I imported. I’m in South Africa by the way.

1. what is the twist rate of the barrel (needed for strelok)
2. Can I clean barrel with patchworm (ballistol)?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Ballistol and Milfoam Forrest for cleaning.

My friend, think everybody here will agree, Patchworm is one of the best (if not the best) way to clean an airgun barrel.
What solvent do use on the patch?
Ballistol and Boretech Eliminator are a couple that I have found work well.

At our distances it sounds like an overkill. Strelok is for firearms as well and this is where ROT can come in handy.

My dear bro Brian…..

So…this parameter is not necessary for us (airgunners)??

Hemn is correct regarding ROT. I have not been able to prove that spin drift exist in airguns. I would need a windless 200 yard range in order to prove spin drift. I honestly think that we don’t shoot at distances where spin drift will really start effecting point of impact.

Thank you for reply. Strelok program asks for this twist rate so I guess I rather ask the pros. Thx

Welcome bro ,

here is the right answer that i got from Ed himself,

1- 410mm for both calibers .22cal & .25cal , which is = 16.1417 inches , right hand twist
2- yes, for sure,,,the patchworm is the best tool to clean the barrel of all PCPs, but lube the barrel o-ring after each cleaning with silicon grease …

hope this helps :8:

Edit; can you explain when you put this parameter to strelock, how can i use it or be benefit from this?
