(But having the two screws trigger, isn’t it actually a R 2.5?)
Pippo,
The first R3´s all had the 2 screw, whitch was also on the R2.5.
with the 2.5 the trigger setup was not connected to the sear setup.
I even remember an R3 with no moa rail.
Lonestars are affortable and mostly have the old .25 barrel.
They al shoot tethered with external regulators.
In my competition they are hard to beat.
Especialy when the shooter has an old 2013 batch of JSB´s….
Regards, Robert.
Congrats for that nice R3 :8:

Romeo,
The front is supported by a “home made divise”
The rear is suported with my hand.
Not sure if the link will work, my shooting table:
Regards, Robert.
What surprises me most is that there are still so many BSA Lonestars around performing so well in competitions.
The Lonestar was really a great gun, probably the most accurate air rifle BSA ever made, the only downside probably was the noise level.
:2cents:
If this match was held outdoors you were at a huge disadvantage against the 30 and 25 calibers. Your Matador has to be very accurate to finish 2nd. The shooter had a lot to do with the results. Awesome shooting.
I have 2 very accurate 22 calibers. One likes 16 grain the other 18 grain and I see a difference in bucking the wind at 55 – 60 yards.
Ed has to be happy seeing these results.
My trigger has 2 adjustment screws, I use only one of them during the match.
It is not the latest version.
I am shooting unsorted AA16’s at 295 m/s.
I bought 4 different batches and only one of them gave me this results.
Katwijk is a really nice track to shoot.
It has real time scoring at the monitor.
Shooting at one black hole 30MM in diameter is something you got to get used to,
and you do not have to replace al the time.
I think I was the only one shooting untethered,
for sure in the top 20.
Regards, Robert.
Well Man,
according to all you are saying you must be a great shot! :8:
Nice job! Do you use a bipod with a sandbag at the rear?
:suprisedn: :suprisedn:
Best Regards from Croatia!
Thanks for the congrats!

It does not matter. Every gun is different. What works for him may not work for you at all.
very Nice. Congrats! Can I ask what pellet speed you was shooting? 16g pellet at 880, 900?
That 4th grouping is crazy! The location of the competition looks cool too. So some of those bays had real time scoring via the monitor?
Robert,
May I ask you if you have a standard matador trigger?
If so then I double my congratulations :8:

Hi Robert,
just read on another post that you have replaced the LW with a BSA barrel on your R3….
I’ve always considered BSAs barrels as being outstanding :8: .
May I ask you if it is a Leupy’s?
