Edgun experience for new owner…
So, my 30mm rings came in and I mounted my 4 X 12 scope and went out on my deck to fire a couple of shoots into the lake.
Remember my left eye is gone now, my dominate shooting eye. I’m shooting right handed for the first time in my life, sitting in a chair on a deck, plinking at some bamboo shoots in the water about 100 feet distant.
This is an easy way to quickly get the scope close to zero prior to final tuning. It only took about ten shots to get it in close, after I realized I was reading UP instead of DOWN with my one good 67 year old eye.
Just a bit of “pink” from the hammer, which I intend to address with the genius Mamcrackin’s de-pinging tubing, no muzzle blast or noise at all. Most of the sound was the pellet hitting the water. Pellet came to a dead stop because of the angle I was shooting.
I got it close to zero and it seem to hold close to the target bamboo twig I was shooting at. Then I got serious and held tight and steady.
I shot the damn twig off at 100 feet, sitting in a chair, no gun rest at all, right handed first time in my life, and I popped the twig. Ha ha ha…I thought, what luck. Until I aimed at the next twig and shot the damn thing off in two shots. After a few more shots I realized the stock configuration of the Edgun gives its balance and handling a whole different ability to control, over conventional rifle stocks. I had much more control than normal. When I squeezed the stock tight, it seemed to become an extension of me, not something I was holding.

Concerned about your cheek and rifle breech interface….forget about it! Its a non-issue as far as I’m concerned.
I am in Dallas for a few days and had to stop my testing. More later when I have time. Initial results, with all my limitations mentioned above, have given me the impression this is the best PCP air rifle in the entire world…at least for me and my purposes.

If I could add my 2 cents to the discussion.
I too was going to buy a Royale and almost did. One of the reasons why I didn’t buy one is that I own two other PCPs rifles—-a Falcon FN12 and a Thor. The Royale is a wonderfully designed rifle but I was looking for something ——- easy to tote, and pack in my truck. The FN12 is a handy and accurate but doesn’t have a large shot count. After doing A LOT of reseach, I decided on the Edgun because of the bullpup design and reviews.
A bonus to owning an Edgun is that they are easy to adjust.
I’m all thumbs when it comes to anything mechanical but it was
easy to adjust the Edgun. Adjusted the trigger pull,—take up (first stage) and break. Pulled the bolt assembly off the gun and played with the velocity. I watched Ed on You Tube a few times, felt comfortable, and dove right in.
I need to work on my long distance groups as I can’t seem to hold my groups together. Out to forty, it pretty much shoots one hole that can be easily covered with a dime (ten shot group). Others that post can do it 50 plus yards consistantly. ——–Ya this gun is a shooter. 😀
Down side is the cost. Alot of coin for an airgun. That said, I’m also keeping a close eye on the 25 Edgun. If it is as good as I hope it is, I will have to look at selling some rifles/shotguns. 🙁
Is it worth it? for “me” I have to say yes. It fits “my” needs perfectly!

Oh i know , i want one too, They seem to be really nice.
I know I sound like I am a paid sponsor for the Edgun. You would have to shoot one to understand. On the other hand, I guess it is a good thing that more people don’t know. I might have to wait 6-8 months, or possibly a lot more, for my next one instead of 2 months.

Illwill, there are 6, .25 cal. long versions headed here right now. Mamcrackin and I are 1&2 on that list. I had been waiting since January for the long .22 cal. with the new barrel, to become available. I found out May 10th that Ed was testing the long version with a .25 cal. barrel. I sent my deposit in on the 11th. and have been not so patiently waiting ever since! 🙁
When I get mine, I MIGHT post some results. 😉 Who knows, Mamcrackin might even let you know how he likes his.
The new barrel longs were susposed to be available in March. When I found out that they were delayed, I bought a Royale and made a bullpup out of it. Nice gun but, It doesn’t have that impossible to describe certian something that my Edgun has.
When the Royale came out, everyone was going crazy over how accurate it was. I have shot it, and my Edgun, side by side at 100 yards. The Edgun will produce tighter average groups, the tightest group I ever had was by the Royale and it was really close.
The official Edgun website says the long gets not less than 90 shots, the standard is listed at 70. I get 62 regulated shots at 880 fps with JSB 18.5s. That speed gives me the best accuracy in my gun. If I can get 45-50 out of the long in .25 cal, things will be golden! Stay tuned!

If I got an Edgun I wouldn’t be sure what caliber to get. .22 is always nice, but the .25 has so many upsides and once it is zeroed in I wouldn’t care about lack of pellet choice as I only ever fire one type anyway. The only downside for me would be that I like my rifles at around 25ft/lbs and that might be a tad low for a .25 to be flat shooting.
Guess I’ll have to eventually try an Ed gun! How many shots in .25???
(I sure could go for one of those aged stakes at the Bass Pro in Grape Vine! YUM!!!)

if you read through the back posts you will see why people love this
gun. To sum it up…..short OAL, lightweight, very quiet, hard hitting,
easily adjustable velocity (so you can put it where you like it best),
alot of shots per fill, quality (fit and finish excellent), durable, easy
to work on, very very accurate, etc.
What makes them so desirable?

Only 2 reasons I would sell my Ed….
1. I was flat broke and starving, or
2. I was funding another Edgun purchase, like I may be soon
as I seriously want a .25 cal if it is all Ed says it is.
My other guns can go at any time, even though I enjoy them, the
Matador is in a class by itself.
I have only seen 2 or 3 Edguns sell. They went for the same price as a new one but, you wouldn’t have to wait 4-6 weeks to get it. I have seen a few more listed for sale and then the owner changes his mind and pulls the post a few minutes later.
I would have to be in very dire straights indeed to even contemplate selling mine!
I do have a slightly used Condor that I would love to sell! Those can be picked up rather cheaply.
Hmmm, not readily available hah? Thaht’s a bummer. Well, what would be your recommendation for the best place to get one?
