Q:

Edgun fps changing from day to day – hour to hour???

My Edgun came shooting @ 920fps (as recorded by my lighted chrony in the basement). A few days later, at the range, I felt like it was shooting more slowly. I didn’t have my chrony with me, but noticed that I had to hold over by an extra dot at 100 yards. When I got home, I tested the gun on my back porch in the shade – the chrony said 880 average. So, I upped the gun back to 910 average.

Today, I went to the range again, and the chrony said the gun was shooting at 950 average. I believed it because they pellets were laying down 1″ groups at 50 yards, and I know it can do better. When the gun got to 110 bar, and the chrony reported 910fps, the groups went back to MOA. I even went out to 100 yards, and shot two groups – one at 150bar (950fps) and one at 110bar (910fps). The one at 950 was just over 2″ – the one at 910 was my first sub MOA group with this gun.

When I got back home, I went to the backyard to dial the gun back down. I filled it to 180 bar and took a shot…912fps. Took another – 906fps….907…902…905…906….

What could be causing this? Batteries are fine in the chrony. I really think it is the gun. After you shoot it 500 times and make power adjustments, you get a feel for knowing the sound for each speed – or, at least I thought I had a feel.

The accuracy and chrony reading sure had a strong correlation. So, what could be causing this significant change in speed (40fps)?

Everyone else is being answered on the daily basis 😀 😀 😀

That is Russian made one, called S04, cost me about 30 dollars and worked hard for about 5 years already, unable to be killed device 🙂 Made by a friend of mine.[/quote]
Where we can buy this chrony?
And for the old LW barrels instaled in edgun:
It is a special bore cleaner product that is developed for match barrel cleaning
http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=1160/Product/J_B_reg__NON_EMBEDDING_BORE_CLEANING_COMPOUND
If we use this product to clean our edgun barrel we can expect that the micronic barrel scraches smoothens?

As for the stock — I will send Tony new one as soon as the next shipment to the States will be and he will send it to you as soon as he gets it.

PS. I’ve bought a new car, 3 year warranty or 100 000 km, in a week it was 5 years warranty or 150 000 — I didn’t pay attention to it, I just like my car and do not care of what had been changed in the conditions of the sellings.

Ed, could you please include another gray stock in your shipment to replace my wood stock?? I’ve been following the posts about the stocks with great interest although I only complained once. I sent Tony an e-mail asking if the gray stocks were available but no reply from him yet and that was a week ago. I’m very happy that TED in MADISON is getting resolution regarding his dilemma, it shows that you care about your customers. I understand that shipping and stocks aren’t free so I’m willing to pay for my stock as I’m not happy with the wood stock I received but this would be a good comprimise as I can’t expect you to eat the cost. Other than that I’m very happy with the accuracy and quality of the Edgun.

Thanks Ed, I feel so much better now! 😆 😆 😆 😆

When I first started watching the video, I thought I would have to reply with “I wish I had a gun like that!”, and then I noticed the stock and thought OH OH! 😯

After seeing the .25 cal. long version in action, I REALLY HATE WAITING FOR EDGUNS! 😆

New barrel…

Old barrel….

Very nice product Ed. One doesn’t even have to speak Russian to see just how devoted and pationate you are with your guns. Can I ask what brand of chrony you were using in the video?

Hi Ed,
Was that a .25 cal. long version Matador that you were shooting in the videos? I noticed that it had a standard version 3 hole stock on it.

I have one of the .25 cal. long versions on order and Tony has emailed me that it has left Russia. Were the .25 cal. long versions shipped with the standard version 3 hole stock or the long version 4 hole stock?

By the way, nice shooting.

Could you post the pictures, of the barrels here, I couldn’t get on that website.

Ed,

If making guns ever gets tiresome, you should become a negotiator for the police. 😎

You are right, of course. 😳
I need be happy with what is in front of me.

You get me that stock, and I will be. 😉

Ted 😳

My wife says that I am able to sell snow to Noth people 🙂 You’ll get the new stock as soon as I will be able to send it.

Thank you for your explanation, Ed. 💡

Although, this additional information also adds to my list of frustrations. This is because for the $50 I was refunded for the scratch on the air reservoir, I also received a lesser-quality stock and the old barrel, while other guys (“behind” me in the “line) received new guns with grey stocks and new barrels for the same price I paid. I’m regretting ever replying to Tony’s email about that blemished gun (which I did not accept)…

I was unaware of all that I would stand to lose…

Don’t mind me, guys. I’ll just shut up and stop my complaining. 🙄

I’m going to go away now. I can’t look at my gun and my bank account at the same time without getting frustrated, and I don’t want to read anymore about what others received (in some cases before me) while I did not.

bye

Don’t you worry! You have exellent accuracy of you gun, at least I could not get the same while shooting restyling 2.5 yesterday 🙂 As for the stock — I will send Tony new one as soon as the next shipment to the States will be and he will send it to you as soon as he gets it.

You never can be sure that you take the best thing in the world today and that lasts for ever 🙂 Even our wives, who used to be young and pretty getting older and … but it isn’t a reason to change her for a new one 🙂 updated completely 🙂 I am prefer to enjoy by what I have now rather then get worried that I do not have the best and the newest thing in the world. That is those, who make the community of the cunsumers want us to get new and new thing — so let restrick them — just enjoy good things as it is 🙂

The links only show russian error messages…

Is your specification something completely new or is it similar to the match grade option one can order to every barrel from them?

The problem you had is based on the technology of the barrel production. We used to installed the ordinary Lothar Walther barrels, there was a kind of bad surface inside it, many small radial curves, which were the point to take micro piece of lead from each pellet and keep it inside the barrel. So, I talked with them in the spring of 2010 while I was in Germany and we agreed to produce barrels for my specification and requirements. A month ago we got them — I have to confess that is heaven and ground in quality 🙂

We cat the piece of the old one and the new one and I made the pictures of them.

Here is the inside part of the old one:

Here is the inside part of the new one:

You can see the difference. So all the guns, which were send from me after 25th of June are assembled with the new barrels, including those that are on the way to States now.

They are so called “restyling 2.5” here are some shooting from it at 50 and 100 meters:

Sorry it is in Russian, but I described some in English by text to the video.
