EDGUN Lelya OFFSET MODERATOR alignment issue
Ed, most be using a special alignment tool to torque the moderator. watch the video and see. I torque the barrel at least 5 times and still have clipping, even rotating the mod to find the center line to muzzle to baffle so you have the deal with both when re-torqueing, its hard to adjust one without affecting the other. for sure I can get it aligned just matter of time and that I really don’t have much of–so alignment tool is in the works.

I have the gen 1 30 cal too but there isn’t that barrel play in there like the Lelya has in Ernest’s video referring to accuracy changing. For the clipping Ed may need one of them fancy computerized Grizzly CNC’s. 😳 I see them on sale for $35k. 😯

I know, I have the original Edgun .30 w/ offset mod. I played around with mine when I got it, and if i put a dowel rod in the opening thru moderator, it shouldn’t matter what orientation it is in relative to the barrel. only thing that makes sense in my head is if the mating surface of barrel end of moderator, or barrel nut are not a true 90 degree cut, creating a slight angle when torqued properly. I am sure I am missing something here though.
Is that a turnable section on the exit hole side? How is the vulcan? I just saw them (been out of airgun loop most of year) and they look interesting. left hand mid-gun cocking and such.

this is an off set mod on the new Lelya and .30 exit hole are at 6′ 0 clock . Normal Edgun mod exit hole are in the center.

I guess I dont understand why there is an alignment and clipping issue.
If the moderator is screwed onto the end of the barrel, then the moderator baffles and holes should be aligned to the bore regardless of orientation? I
If the barrel of the Edgun was longer than the airtube, would it really matter if the eccentric part of the moderator was at the 3,6,9, or 12 o’clock position?
What I did see in another post that made sense, was the machining on the thread, or the base of the one piece baffle had some deformity that caused a slight angle in the moderator.
What am I missing??

got the fix to make it easier to aligned the mod, I use a split bushing on the torque nut. so the mod is center with the nut while being torque, now only adjustment is the through hole at 6 o’clock, took one adjustment to get the pellet flying straight and grouping—–> no clipping.
bushing is from a pellet tin that is .35mm if you can fine a shim that is .40mm the better. tap the shim on the bushing with a wood or rubber hammer till its circular with the bushing.
It’s right. That’s the problem I have. It’s so hard to get the moderator to align with barrel. So I feel the old moderator may work better on this issue. So I’m thinking if you can make an adapter to lock the barrel and accept regular moderator thread 1/2-20. Hope to get a good alignment tool soon.
Great videos again Ernest but this one is a bit disturbing on accuracy. I guess the Lelya is mainly a plinker until there is a fix?
