Q:

Edgun makes meat

Howzit Gang,

First Post on the forum.

I’d like to thank all the guys that have posted their reviews on the Edgun. I found that THIS IS THE PLACE to be when looking for the latest Edgun information.

My Edgun arrived on Saturday and it was a looooong half day at work. After mounting up the optics on 30mm med. IOR rings that I happen to have, I quickly found out why most of you suggest the high rings. Couldn’t wait to shoot the gun so mounted the scope and started shooting. Trigger was a little rough at first but started smoothing out as I shot through a tin of pellets. Personally, I like the two stage trigger.

Zeroed at twenty, one hole okay —- it shoots. Shot it at thirty, group held together. Shot it at forty, group could be covered with a quarter. This gun can shoot! (old news to all the other Edgun owners eh?). I know that with time, I should be able to get better groups and look forward to streching her out a bit. Just need to work on getting a better cheek weld.

Sunday morning I ran up to a local sporting goods store and picked up Weaver high mount tactical rings. The gun feels much better now and the groups started tightening up.

Sunday afternoon I took the Edgun out hunting. A friend has a mac nut orchird and is having pig problems. The pigs are wreaking havoc and eating up all the nuts. I have permission to hunt there as long as I don’t use a firearm. I’ve taken a few pigs with my bow but if the right shot presented itself, I wanted to take a small one with the Edgun. Long story short, closest I could get was twenty five yards. Didn’t feel comfortable taking the shot.

This afternoon, I left work a little early to see if the pigs were still there. They were and after an hour and a half of stalking, I was set up to take a shot if things looked right. I had one little porker picked out and as they started feeding towards me, a smaller 25lbs. male took a bee line and fed straight too me. At thirteen yards I decided to take him before he winded me. At the shot he just dropped. The Edgun is soooo quiet, the other pigs didn’t know what was going on and didn’t know what to do. They kept running towards him and scattering back. This went on about a half a minute before the wind shifted and they winded me. All hell broke loose as they bolted away. There was one in the 140lbs class and a couple 120 pounders. Having them running around that close was interesting. Will go back in a couple of days with my bow and see if the 140 is still around.

Nice thing about a really small pig is that they are soooo easy to clean. Right now I have it on ice and plan on roasting it this weekend for the fourth. Mac Nut feed pigs—–yummie! Wife was kinda upset that I shot a small one but I explained that I didn’t want to risk a shot on a large one with the Edgun.

Will try and post pics up on the “Yellow” hunting section tomorrow.

This gun is a keeper. Unique, accurate, great shot count, and compact. Did I leave anything out? For “me” this is perfect go- to hunting PCP air rifle.

Aloha,

Mark
