Edgun Matador air leak in breech/barrel NEED HELP
I just received my used Edgun Matador and I filled it with air but when I pull the cocking lever I hear an air leak coming out of the barrel and pellet port.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks for all the help. I went ahead and drained the tank and blew some air from my air compressor to the pellet port area and re-filled the air tank.
After firing it a couple of times, the leak appeared to have stopped. Ed must have been correct in that the valve might have been dirty so I am glad that it was an easy fix.
Tony — Do you have a spare valve to sell to me in case the valve does eventually fail on me again? I’m worried that the valve may eventually fail for good.
Let me know. BTW, after fixing the air valve issue, this gun is awesome!!! It is so compact and well built. It feels like every inch of it is solidly built; hence that feeling of high quality.

3) Edgun Matador .22
4) FX Gladiator .22 (Will replace this with the R3 once it is available)
And people wonder why we line up to buy an Edgun!
With a bit of experience with this rifle, and watching Eduard’s and Ted’s Youtube videos, you will be able to easily fix most problems yourself. Obviously the previous owner just shot it and didn’t maintain it. Not to worry, these things are built like Russian tanks.
I can take a look at the gun and fix it (no warranty).

Ed beat my by a day. If air is coming out the barrel, it means there is something wrong with the valve. I can not recall if there is an o-ring in the transfer port….but, that would only create a leak when firing the gun. It would have nothing to do with the problem you are experiencing. That valve is likely dirty, or needs replacing. I’m pretty sure Tony has spare valves.
This is a minor fix, but I’d still be annoyed – especially if the original owner deliberately withheld this information.
That is the valve. Can be some dirt under it. You should disassemble it and check the valve and the surface where it fix for the cleanness and avoid of the damage.

BTW, the air leak appears to be coming from inside the barrel so I believe it is possibly the transfer port connecting to the breach. The leak is happen regardless if the gun is cocked or not.
I picked this up from the original owner and don’t have the set of extra O-Rings. Any idea of the measurement of the O-rings and where I can get them?

Yes you can carefully submerge the front of the air tank into water and watch for the air bubbles (make sure that the barrel don’t get into the water).
In order to fix it, you’ll need to COMPLETELY DRAIN AIR (down to zero bar pressure on the gage!) from the tank and remove the front plug.
The large o-ring sealing it against the air tube needs to be replaced. Every gun comes with complete set of spare o-rings, 2 pcs of the largest diameter.
The leak only happens from 200 bar to 100 bar. At 100 bar no leak.
It is pretty noticeable as a loud hissing sound.

I agree and that is a winning combination. Out of the bunch, I do like the overall feel and feedback of the Matador to my other pcps.
I look forward to more shooting and tinkering with it. I’ll post pics soon. I was able to get your full scope-cam setup and did get a nice deal on a Hawke tactical 6.5-20×42 and a 8.5-25×42 from Hawke for an awesome deal. That is why I bought 2 of them. I mounted teh 6.5-20×42 on the Matador and it is SWEET!!!
