Q:

Edgun Matador Standard .25 R3M LDC

This thread will be for members who have an Edgun Matador STD .25 R3M and interested in getting a shroud and LDC made. I am also using this thread to provide Neil Clague with the information he needs to make one.

OEM Shroud 13 inches
Air tube 12.25 inches
Barrel 8.25 inches
Barrel OD .478 inches *updated 2/7/14
lip OD in the back of the shroud is .5890 inch.
Shroud OD is 0.984252 inches

Stock picture of the gun and OEM shroud

From Breech to the tip of the OEM shroud is 13 inches

From Breech to the tip of the air tube is 12.25 inches

Where the baffle screws onto the barrel and also pushes the shroud back into the breech

From the breech to the tip of the barrel is 8.25 inches ** Edit

With the shroud off

OEM baffle screwed on

End of the shroud that snugs into the breech

I would like the new shroud to have a CF cap at the end that can be taken off so that the LDC could be screwed on

Not necessarily true Charlie, Neil’s shroud is different from OEM. The OEM shroud is an empty cylinder. Neil’s however has rings inside the shroud that the barrel slides into. Snug fit. At the end of the shroud, it has the same lip that goes into the breech. My shroud has two grub screws at the end. It holds the shroud in place and keeps it suspended. Even with the extra weight of the LDC, the shroud is still floating above the air tube. The shroud has the same amount of play (wiggle) as the OEM. Which is not much at all.

I am not the best candidate to show you accuracy out to 100 yds. I only have daily access to 30 yds and that is a walk in the park for the Matador. This is my first PCP or even high powered Air gun so I haven’t had the time to build my techniques for accuracy. Soon though!

NC’s LDC may not work well on R3M. There is no tension that mentioned in OG’s commend here http://www.talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=28558. It’s not like old style R2.5 or older, the barrel is secured with the scope mount clamp. Without the tension, the whole assembly is floating on a couple of threads of the breech. Let’s see the accuracy.
