Edgun mods?
Any chance of making these topics a sticky?
I have to sift through all this shit and nothing. I’m looking to rework the entire trigger assembly so if anyone has any links please post them. PLEASE! :angrymob:

Ig, while you have the trigger bar and trigger rod out of the trigger housing, polish the trigger bar where the trigger adjusting screws touch and also polish the sides of the trigger rod bar where it touches the side washers. Put a light coat of Moly grease on the face of the trigger bar and the side washers.
Next, you want to adjust the trigger rod’s length so that the trigger rod bar is parallel to the air tube. This step is very important!
Once you get the correct length on the trigger rod, remove and discard the second trigger screw and just use the one that is closest to the trigger. On the stock 2 screw setup, as the trigger rotates, the second screw will touch the trigger bar and cause increased trigger pull effort due to the lessened mechanical advantage.
Once you have removed the second screw, keep turning the front trigger screw in until the gun won’t cock, back it out a turn and then slowly adjust it in until you get the trigger feel that you want.
Doing this can give you a trigger that has no creep and has a very light let off. You can get it scary light and I don’t trust it being that light. I adjust the screw out a little more as, I like a little trigger movement before the trigger comes up upon the “notch”. When the trigger comes to the notch, if you have everything adjusted correctly, just a little more pressure will fire the gun. And I mean “just a little more”.
The really nice thing about this mod is if you don’t like it, you can easily go back to the stock setup.
I have done this trigger mod on all of my R2.5 and R3 Matadors. I have been very happy with all of my guns after the trigger mods. I have had a couple of guys that sent their Matadors to me for unrelated trigger issues and I did the trigger mods to their guns. They were all happy with the trigger mods.
HOOT told me that my trigger mods made the trigger equal to or better than any air gun or PB that he has ever owned. Then again: HOOT goes out in public while wearing RED SPANDAX HOT SHORTS!
I don’t like to modify any Edgun parts but; my 30 cal R3 Matador long came with a single screw trigger. Ed replaced the second trigger screw with a rounded “hump” where the second trigger screw used to be. I couldn’t get it adjusted to my liking so: I ground the hump off and went from there. My thinking was, I can always buy another trigger.
After the hump was gone, I got the trigger adjusted to my liking. I’m happy with the results.
Make sure that the spring isn’t getting stuck under the washer, happened to me and almost had a shit-fit in trying to figure it out :rofl:

I’m having a real issue with this trigger sucking right out of the box. As a matter of fact both my current Edgun triggers SUCK. I watched some youtube videos but still can’t seem to get rid of that nasty first stage drag.

Thanks OG I watched your video and did everything but polish the side of the sear where the plastic washers make contact. I’ll do that tonight and update.
