Edgun not sitting right
Now I’ve seen a video on a home fix to this issue but want to know any other ways of fixing it….
My issue is the back of my matador is moving up and down freely….so when I pick my gun up or I’m walking with it you can hear the gun rubbing against the wood (making a noise)….is there a way to secure the rear of the gun to stop it from being able to move?

Well what I did as of now was take some extra foam I had laying around from my pelican case and cut little strips and placed 2 near the front by the cut out sections of the stock and some on the rear near the butt pad under the air tube….then returned the gun back into the stock and the problem of the back portion of the gun moving up/down has gone away…but I still hear the creaking sound of the gun leaning side to side in the stock.
I wanted to do something that didn’t involve making the removal and reinstallation of the action any more difficult or complicated.
I made a special adapter at the butt so I could attach an adjustable thigh rest and butt hook for field target competition.
Well what the video showed was that he removed the butt plate and drilled a hole there and when he was done tightening down the gun he put the butt plate back on and it looked like nothing was ever done
Or machine some type of item that could be placed in the cutout for the action and eliminate the need to poke holes in the exterior of the stock. 😉
I was going to run a pin from side to side and then slot the back fin under the bolt. I would then set the slot on the pin and rotate the action d own to let the trigger go through the opening and then screw it in. The pin could have a piece of plastic/rubber tubing over it to keep some pressure on it and prevent metal to metal contact.
Well the video i saw, the guy drilled a hole in the back of the stock and made some sort of a hook that ran from the back of the gun down the stock…to a lock nut which pulled the back of the gun down into the stock.
I have noticed that the collar around the air tube floats the air tube and when it is clamped into the stock the air tube hits the stock and moves at bit to keep the back of the action snug.
Try adding some thick paper shims to the air tube around the collar (just above the screw hole) between the air tube and the stock and see what that does when you screw it in.
I have been wondering on my Matador if I could do something to attach the back of the action to the stock but haven’t started drilling any holes yet. 😉
I haven’t added any sort of shims…should I add one towards the back were the problem is?
Did you add a shim at the front screw between the action and the stock?
I noticed mine will do this if I add a shim at this location.

I posted this on the other topic that is similar. The first image is the “problem” area, if the air tube isn’t contacting the raised portions of the inlet just right the action will move up and down at the back.
Here is what pushes the air tube into the shroud. If the part that the stock screw goes in gets depressed into the stock these portions of the inletting will make the air tube hit the shroud. I would take card stock (like the renewal card for magazines) and place them on the raised portions of the inlet.

The screw being too long is a TOTAL MYTH, There is NO POSSIBLE way for the screw to push the air tub into the shroud.
