Zeefus for all the R&D you guys did on the first R3 .30s for ed you deserve all new parts and a t-shirt. It’s because of you trailblazers I got the improved model

Just an update to those of us with the first gen ones. I have 2 .30 longs. One has a broken valve. The other I do not shoot for the obvious reason. I owned a third short and sold it prior to the new owner having it when it’s valve broke. I have PM’d Ed my address and phone number as he posted those with gen one’s that needed fixing to do. Thus far I have had no response from him. I like the Edgun. Especially the R25M. I would sell my broken gun if someone gave me $1800.00 for it. No trades. I’m firm on that. 😛

It doesn’t look like much but the “dust cover” is a nice improvement. :thumb:

I don’t want to sound like a broken record but with an improved trigger the R3 would be definitively hard to beat :2cents:

This R3 definitely remembers the good old times when the Matador felt solid and reliable and was tough in the right places and not like the R3M that was “tough” where it was supposed to be “fluid”. :angrymob:

Long live the R3! :8:

Here is a pic of the new Matador fill port cover. It is just like the Lelya

Please show the picture.

Got my .30 caliber standard today. Fill port now has a cover just like the Lelya. Hopefully mine shoots as well as Keyser’s. Mine came shooting 740 FPS. problem solved by screwing in the HST a bit….

Nice vid, thanks for sharing.

Just curious as to what happens to those that purchased the first batch of .30’s? Just stay stuck with those problems?

Fudd, only the 30. The bolts are at least 3x larger than the standard R3. All pellets shot through this gun were the JSB 44.75 grn 7.62

Were you shooting JSB’s in that video?

Informative review.

Is this new design where the breech bolts are hidden underneath for all new Edgun Matadors (R3M .22/.25) or only for the R3 .30? It improves the look of the breech a lot.

RA all the shooting in the end of the video was at 262 including the shotgun shell. I was stupid and I set the shells up on a wood board I found out there and the first shot knocked all but one shell over. The soda cans were also at 262. I have attempted that same shot many times with my EDgun .25 and Vulcan. I have been able to hit the cans before but never with that kind of consistency. The last 4 cans were hit unedited (except for time) in a row. The 30 is an amazing weapon. Not an easy gun to shoot however, the Russian hammer .30 jumps and actually has some muzzle flip.

Nice! thanks for the info.
