… well this has me curious. The video on youtube states that the charge rate is 4 1/2 cubic inches per minute.
.. My Bauer has a charge rate of 4.8 cubic feet per minute…if I did that math right that is 384 times faster..
.. I know that my Bauer took about 25 minutes (approx.. did use a stop watch) to fill a 75 omega from Zero to 4500..
…again the guy on the youtube video stated it took 4 hours to fill a scuba tank… that looked like an 80 CUFT @ 3300 psi

There has been a thread over on the Yellow about some Chinese Compressors… To me this looks just like one, but the out side has been wrapped in some type of “Carbon Fiber” looking finish.

I know the Guys from AOA took one to Africa for their Hunt Last September… and said it work good during the trip.

It will be interesting to see how the “Cooling System” Works… a this price it may be a good option between shoebox and a Bauer.

When I was shopping I had to be careful as I wanted the QD lever system and every time I found a good price I was tripped up buy the hex nut version. I ended up on Amazon for a few bucks under a hundred.

Found out some info from AOA. They just received their first batch of Omegas. They did a video in Africa with 4 hunters and used the Omega exclusively for all air requirements. 36 minutes to fill from empty to 4500psi. I think he said that was for their 75cf tank. I’m not keen on buying a used product when I don’t have any experience on a new one. Little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. AOA will take the return of the shoebox and apply it towards the Omega I’m leaning that way.

Now that is interesting. Remember, though, you can probably pick up a used Bauer or Airtex for about $2500 and they are pretty fast. Instead of 30 minutes for a top off they can do a full fill in 30 minutes. New ones run about $3500. Too many choices.

Sweet indoor range!!!

Looking forward to some indoor testing targets from you at some point!!

Have you made yourself a pellet trap yet?

Thanks Hemn,

I thought I saw it somewhere, so it is you. Thanks for the positive feedback.

Brother Hac;

i have mounted Burries one piece 30mm, on my R3M ling, it really works very well, you don’t need even 3m to mount or dis-mount, it will keep scope zeroing, i believe more guys have used this;

this is the best price i could find it out for you,

this is mine;

Hi Doug,

Thanks for the recommendation, you are right about buying a cheap mount and finds out later that it does not do its job and have to cough up and buy a more expensive model. I really like the idea of one scope that can easily and quickly dis-mount and re-mount on another gun, takes a few shots and you are zeroed in.

John, I have a burris coming that includes the quick detack levers. The one you see here is a leupold brand for 1″ scope tubes as where my Hawke scope i have coming is 30mm so it gets changed. I definatly like the one piece monuts, I started using them on AR 15 platforms and never looked back They feel more solid and return to zero more effectivly in my experience. If I am scoping a gun and they are available for the platform they are the only thing I will use now. I strongly considered buying an off brand like UTG or something else that cost 1/2 or 1/3 compared to leupold or burris prices and have a feeling it would be acceptable for use but after dropping this much money on Edguns and scopes recently I decided not to compromise. The sting of a higher price don’t last as long as the the sick feeling of cheap stuff not working as it should and wasting your money then having to re-buy the good stuff after all. That and I just feel good about the purchase everytime I look at it forever and I keep every gun that preformes as expected forever.

Proof Shots, and and the wharehouse at work that just happens to provide a 100 yard heated range for me on the weekends. !! My scope is due in tomorrow, it will be hard not to be able to put it together cause I ordered a Burris PEER QD mount that is running a day or 2 behind.

Hi Doug,

I am in the market for a one piece Burris mount like the one shown here. Can you give me some feed back on it?

Thanks,

John

My original Shoebox seems like a cheapie now. 😛 It does a top off in about 2.5 hours but I only run it about twice a month.

I sent an email to shoebox. Let’s see what they say about this. There is a new compressor called the Omega. It is a stand alone unit (no shop compressor necessary) and it fills 2.5 times faster than the Freedom 8 and 5 times faster than the standard shoebox. I’m looking into that as well. It’s $1700. The freedom 8 + shop compressor is about $1400.

Yes, mine says it too. I set my compressor for about 115 on the regulator and it cycles on at 85, worked great. I guess I am using averaging. I can see to much inlet pressure loading the unit to hard but in my case I filled my 90 ci. tank from “0” and it sounded and ran the same from begining to end.

Hey Ride

Check the warning sticker on top. Does it say 100psi max pressure? I’m wondering if there was an upgrade or something. On shoebox website it says 125psi. Maybe this was a recent upgrade????

This is the inside of my 1 week old Freedom 8, notice the elec. cutoff in the bottom center and the lack of the black flag arm and spring that is used to smack the on/off switch on the base model. Mine runs quiet.
